Nothing to stop the hairs being pulled out then? Surely crimping the ferrule is not enough - some glue or something?

They are glued John. Per the website ( www.jerrysartarama.com/hamburg-premier-brushes): "Hamburg Professional Synthetic Blend Brushes from Creative Mark are skillfully crafted by hand by a world-class German brush maker. Each brush is created with an 8 step process. First, hairs are carefully blended exactly by a skilled brush dresser, painstakingly pinching the shape into an exact bundle for the shape and size. The bundles are hand tied, shaped, and measured. They are then placed into a nickel-plated brass ferrule, and secured with polyurethane glue. After drying, the ferrule is glued to the handle and double crimped extra deep to permanently secure the brush."

Which type of glue do you use in the ferrule?

@Sven Figenschou - thank you for the question! We reached out to Daniel and he said they use a polyurethane glue to secure the bristles within the ferrule. However, if you were asking about the handle, that is assembled in a separate production step. The ferrule is crimped mechanically and secured with hot melt glue.

Where can i find the metal cups you use as molds? What are those called?

@dueler57time Unfortunately, those metal molds aren't readily available. Daniel Zahn has been making brushes for years and learned as an apprentice from a master. The tools and knowledge they have is passed from generation to generation and includes custom tools made ages ago.

Just get them printed or machined, or machine them yourself (it's a fucking piece of metal with a hole drilled into it) if your hands aren't growing out of your ass

@@JerrysartaramaArtSupply You were honest about it's making. I want to ask about the brushes of many companies which they claim synthetic are actually synthetic or not. Are they fully synthetic or blend with natural hair. I am talking about these natural imitation Escoda, Da vinci Caseno, Sennelier raphael, Princeton Neptune etc. I am asking this because you people can easily tell.
