You are a master of illusion. Your creation looks like a refined aged piece of porcelain. How gentil and pleasing it is to view your creations. I am so happy that you are sharing your talent. I noticed your preference in finishing your work with a solvent based varnish. I have to experiment, however what is your view on a water based varnish? Ultimately everyone has to work with what achieves best results. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you very much. Yes, this year my Christmas globes have this theme, porcelain. That's exactly why I use that glossy solvent-based finishing varnish. But you will see that the following globes are finished with wax, it depends very much on the theme I use. I also use water based finishing varnish, it's very good but again, it depends on the theme of the object I'm working on. I don't know if it's illusion, but I'm happy if it's as you say. I'd say more like a reproduction. If you want to reproduce porcelain texture, you have to study a bit, if you want rust texture, the same. Inspiration comes from everywhere, even nature.

@@DanielaNaftanaila Thank you for that information. It's an important approach in the creative process and will be entered in my crafting journal. When I say illusion it's the technique of making a peace of plastic look like porcelain. You are correct in your approach to create a reproduction. I would not call them reproductions but 'objet d'art in the style of as the Italians would say " a la maniera dello stile'. You mentioned to study and draw inspiration that will influence your creation especially nature around you. If you continue with the theme of porcelain the colours of Sevre and Meissen are exquisite. You must not forget the influence from Japan and Chine porcelain. Most people will admire your beautiful work. Then you have some people that will go beyond and wonder how and where the influence comes from when they look at your work. How about a decorative piece for the center of a dining table. "Surtout de table" or have a look at 19th century "les art de la table'. What come to mind is George IV Grand Service. C'est de toute beaute. Frumusețea transcende descrierea. Have a great day.

When applying the two part crackle, do you let the first part dry before applying the second? And, is the crackle dry when applying the antique paste? Your work is gorgeous!
@DanielaNaftanaila Жыл бұрын
Of course, the first component must be left to dry until it clears and you can clearly see the picture under it.
