I visited the UK from Afghanistan around 2004 for training with the British army and the first song I heard in the radio from the airport to the hostel was this song and I didn't understand the full song but I loved it and then I was listening to it in Afghanistan in Helmand for few years before life got complicated and too much sad things happened and now once again living in the UAE since a year it came in my mind and what a great song this is. Maybe too much info but listening to this I remember the wet roads on London and the beautiful rain and double dicker buses. A experience I will never forget.

I heard this song for the 1st time after nearly losing my wife to a blood clot a few years back.. it came on my car radio one night when on my way to visiting her in ICU (the lyrics were spot on to how I was feeling) i ended up playing it over and over for a month until she came out of hospital.. thankfully she's now back to full health and I've finally recently told her of my soppyness .. thankfully she is not only in good health but we are happier than ever and this track is a great reminder of both what could have happened and how llucky we are
