Could you advise me about how often I need to mow in the opposite direction over existing stripes, I have been mowing in the same sequence for some time so do I need to change ? Regarding the Hayter, yours is petrol fueled I bought the battery powered version for purely convenience as I am only cutting my own lawn, I do find that even the slowest self propelled speed it is a bit quicker than I would prefer, any suggestions ? Please keep posting as I want to follow your lawn care advice for the winter months, thanks. l
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert3 жыл бұрын
Hhmm not sure if you can slow them down, you can on the petrol but im not familiar with the electric best bet is to find your local hayter repair shop as they will have all the tricks of the trade I try n mow a different way at least every other time if possible but if im verticutting regular then i can go a little longer without changing

Hi Daniel another great inspirational video, what number do you have the cylinder mower on ? And roughly how many weeks from seeding did it take for that lawn to be as thick as that, iam 4 weeks in with good coverage using 100% fine dwarf rye but as yet no where near as thick as that,

Between 3-2 on most, follow the vids but took about 8 weeks before it was decent but is getting better and better as i cut more and it gets oldee

Can you tell me how you keep you lawn a chartreuse shade? Here in the States we have an obsession with dark blue cultivars and iron rich fert.. My new rye grass will stay chartreuse for several weeks, but eventually darkens up naturally (not a bad thing). I too use a cylinder mower at a similar height of cut. I notice lighter shades are quite common on your side of the pond. Is it cultivars, soil pH, or do you compost your tea into...compost tea?
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert3 жыл бұрын
It will just be the cultivar, your usa grasses will be engineered to be that deep blue colour ie kbg, we have that in turf/sod but for me it ruins the sward as its clumpy and blue lol

@@johncanter9575 purity but you need to use alot more than they say(hardly any npk so wont burn the lawn...soak it and then soak it again for twice as long then give it more water (go super mad with the water).you may need to repeat this a week later..i did and for the tree huggers worms come back..its not some manmade chemical..its a tree extract that breaks down and breaks down quickly..too quickly if you ask me.
