As a landscape gardener of 24 years now,,most people can't afford ""that amount "" of time on their lawn,,,Plus that amount of expensive kit... That customer is obviously very well off,,and very lucky to be able to afford you..Great video.🇬🇧👍🇬🇧

Yeah i see what your saying but not everyone can afford a ferrari but they sell thousands of them, if your into something then you will find a way to support it, more than a million people in uk play golf and thats well more expensive to do. Plus im trying to get people to do it themselves thats my ethos so thats a cost you can do for free whilst getting many more benefits

Looks bloody superb mate, you would be hard pushed to find lawns anywhere near as good as this looks now, to what theirs look like in the peak of the season. This is still Johnson's premier pitch seed on this lawn isn't it? This customer and the other one you go to that is used in advertising premier pitch are the two customers of yours that still use premier pitch, or correct me if I am mistaken🤔Glad you advised not to seed yet, as I was tempted to throw a bit down on bare spots, but will wait till March. But glad to hear it is o.k to scarify at the moment. Think that lady was after you mate and hoping you were going to ask her on a date😂😂😂😂. @@DanielHibbertLawnExpert nice one Dan, I have read a lot of pitches these days are using a mix of synthetic fibres along with actual seed, so not fully natural. Artificial grass is one of my pet hates, think it looks terrible, and think the only reason people use it is because they are either too busy or too lazy to mow a real lawn. Hi Dan. I have followed your tips to a T for the past couple of years and overseeded with Barenbrug seed you recommend the past 2 years. Lawn has looked incredible for Summer and right through to December really. However, my issue is that come Jan the lawn gets extremely thin and gets mucky. We do have a large Labrador that is on the lawn (but not a huge amount), and lawn can be quite shaded and wet in Winter (West of Ireland problem!!). I need to address the thinning this year, and I wonder should I just use a seed that contains more Fescues (Maybe 50/50 Rye/Fescue)?? Probably not going to look as good in Summer, but I cant take another winter of threats from the missus to pave the garden!!! Any advice you can provide would be appreciated, and thanks in advance!
@DanielHibbertLawnExpert

Fescues will perish before rye in wet shady conditions in my experience so think you will be causing more problems for yourself as you will end up with a spongy lawn in the summer

Winter die back has been bad on my lawn because the roots have rotted in the sodden conditions. My question is this. The existing lawn badly needs fertilizing but I need to overseed. I have watched every video but am confused. Do I apply spring fertilizer before overseeding and top dressing? I thought you shouldn't encourage growth of existing lawn to give the new grass chance to grow, rather than existing lawn preventing development. I know Dan says here not to fertilize if there are bare patches but I don't have many bare areas, just thinning grass.
