I have done exactly that thanks to all the nice videos like this. Fled to another far away country, basking in the sun, enjoying myself and sounding really annoyed when the narc idiot husband calls. He is only ''allowed" one call a month. Idiot behaving extremely nicely. But for some reason, that irritates me to the limit!

Definitely can relate, unfortunately, to this. The best way to deal with a narcissist is to just not deal with them. I went through a very broken phase with the relationship ending and realized that I had to limit any interaction with her for my own emotional well-being. I'm so much better off. She seems to be spiraling out of control because she's still stuck with her demons. She's frantically searching for my replacement before our divorce is finalized. It's crazy to watch. Meanwhile, I'm living in peace and enjoying life again.

I have so many conflicting things popping up on this KZbin that only serve to confuse me, one thing I'm starting to really feel certain about as I run over everything in my brain, is that your teachings seem to be what line up the most. What you are saying is Golden, right on the mark. What you're saying has to be the one & only truth of the situation. It has to be what I delt with, there's no way it could be anything else, and I MUST follow your instructions in order to survive , overcome this,& move on& foward.

​@mjw221 🙏🏻 There seems to be a repeating pattern in this life/ world that makes me wonder though if it's more than just narcissism. I'm starting to wonder if certain people are just luckier than others on this planet. Maybe the narcissists do have childhood trauma that has evolved into their adulthood and created their devastating bad behavior but is there also another element to the story& maybe they're trying their best with the situation at hand? Although for me if feels like honesty hurts less than lies, I can see how hard it would be for the other person in the scenario? Maybe it's time for me to except my seemingly reality?

I'm in no way making excuses for people's bad behaviors, I just don't want to hurt someone who did give me the world prior to her bad behavior kicking in so it's extremely hard for my heart & mind to condemn her. ​@@Ourtimeispast Maybe sometimes people do care about someone as they say , but they don't have the courage to tell them the truth for fear of hurting their feelings so they beat around the bush & try to put in hints and & readings between the lines, so the person on the receiving end ends up feeling like why would this person do this to me when I like them so much I'd sacrifice my life for them? I'm guessing it's a case of not too many people are courageous enough to come forward with their true feelings for fear of hurting others/ also an element of narcissism/ psychopathy?

Danielle, is this a fair comparison of the Narc to a Drug or Alcohol addiction. Meaning, they can only stop being a Narc or alcoholic if they actively accept it, acknowledge it and want to try and change? Or am I off? Just waking up to my Narc wife of 10yrs. We are splitting and I've been going to counseling to navigate her irrational reactions.
