Another man cultured with Oblivion I see xD This is really cool Daniel! I knew a tiny bit about state machines and the animator before, but had no clue that you could do this much with it as well as the substates! It's cool to see how you handled it, as well as some of the problems you were encountering. It's also awesome that you are sharing the Loading Manager :)

Haha, you can't beat Oblivion's AI! xD Thanks, I'm glad I could show you something new! :) I was quite happy with how compact the script turned out, so felt I had to share it! I might even polish it and put it up on the Unity Asset store (like the other free ones I've uploaded)! :D

Great job! I'd probably roll my own FSM if not using animations. Not too dissimilar to your skeleton code but without enter and exit. Great video, always a pleasure to watch! 👍
@DanielLochner4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I would definitely do the same, it's just I felt so drawn to combining the two, seeing as my animations were linked to the state the enemy was in! Glad you enjoyed the video Rob! I really appreciate your support! :)

1:15 Did you make your own editor script for Database.cs, to make it look like that, or are dictionaries serialized like that? :o I wouldn't now because I've never serialized a directionary...
@DanielLochner4 жыл бұрын
I downloaded Rotary Heart's "Serialized Dictionary Lite" from the Unity Asset store (assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/utilities/serialized-dictionary-lite-110992), and created a Database script with a dictionary of objects! By then creating a DatabaseManager script with a singleton, and placing it on a Management GameObject in the scene, you can access any Database during runtime! Super useful! :D

I've had mixed experiences with state machines which in some situations made things much more complicated than they really should be, specially with some character state changes that don't necessarily demand an animation event. But in the instances that I use it it works like a charm.

Hi Boros! I'd suggest reading up on it through this tutorial: medium.com/@larissaredeker/3d-character-customization-fd95a1d57ae :) You'll need to have some basic understanding of programming, rigging and 3D modeling though! Here is the video showcasing what this tutorial will achieve: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZmUkn2in6qMppY Best of luck with your project! :D

This would be really hard to do, but as a Easter egg, you should make a level, where your fighting in a crater with a asteroid in it, but instead you have dinosaurs that you have to fight with a TRex being a boss or something idk haha.

The character moves too slow. Walks too slow, covers distance too slowly switches weapons too slow. I feel the drag just watching it.
