Fixing my BT Complete Wifi Black Disc Feet. A Real Pain and fiddly!!

My BT Complete Wifi Disc fell on the floor and one of the black feet came off, but at the same time the inner spring part was loose. So in this video I take the BT Complete Wifi Disc apart and fix the feet back on and then put it all back together again.

Can you believe I took mine off (I was hanging it on the wall) later relocated back to the floor I had to put both the little blighters back on. Fiddliest thing I've done in ages, nearly left via the window on several occasions.

Thanks, my Disc has been falling over like a drunk for months and I finally decided to fix it, the internal part was only partrly dislodged but I couldn't get he foot to clip back in. Found this opened it up so I could hold it still and clip it on and bingo!

Had the same problem but got lucky. The spring housing was ok so I put the foot in place and turned the foot and spring through 180deg anti-clockwise which tightened the spring, foot clicked into place - job done. No tools required just perseverance but don’t force it or it will break.😅

Exact same thing happened to me was hoping there would be a repair video somewhere. All that high tec inside and some cheap plastic mechanism holding it together no wonder things break easily. I will be trying your method of repair tomorrow, thanks for the video.

A thin jewellers type screwdriver should open it up, just lever it open slowly all the way around the back of the unit.

I’ve only encountered this problem with a home hub, but if the plate under the foot is still turning and the spring isn’t broken, try positioning the foot so that its tabs are directly under the two small holes on the rotating plate. Push the foot in and try turning both it and the plate clockwise. If you’re lucky, the foot will snap back in. Took me thirty minutes of fiddling, but it can be done.

There's no need to take the router or disk apart to replace a foot that's popped off - you'll just trash the plastic clips holding it together and mark the plastic. Turn the black plastic housing in the hub or disk that the foot sits in 90 degrees so that it's tensioned and keep it in this 'closed' position using a tool. I used a small penknife. The foot will push/clip back into place in the closed position. Remove the penknife and it will spring out to the stand position.

Simplest way is not to open it up. If attachment point has gone inside slightly you should be able to clip it back in place by using long nose pliers and pulling out. Now the best part. Trim a small amount from the clip part of feet and they will now clip back on with less force.

Good video however - the feet holder on one side came detached on my disc - so an improved video also showing which foot goes on which side and also how to re mount the foot holder would be a great thing to do, mounting the foot holder is a major issue when you try and slot it back into place, there is definitely a process which needs to be followed in order to make it work.

Just replaced both feet after giving your clip a quick look, very fiddly but managed without moving the electronics and thankfully no broken bits when finished but what a crap design. Going to use superglue if it happens again.

😂😂 just watched this wot a load of hassle. Trust me no need to fiddle about like this or remove back. I have the same discs and when you look where foot needs to go you can see the spring you point out but just mirror the position of the existing foot press with force whilst wiggling foot slightly at the same time and hey presto it pops back in 👍👍👍

Thanks for this very helpful video. One additional tip: put the leg back on BEFORE trying to sort the spring. Just make sure the leg holder is the right way in place so the leg is at the proper sprung out angle. The spring should then be close to the hole it needs to go into. It’s then easier to get the spring into place with tweezers. That saves a lot of frustration😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Both the feet have come off my router but the spring bits are still inside - I can't quite see what you're doing at 3:21 - is your left index finger pulling the spring back or something? Can you put the foot back on without dismantling the router?

You missed out the KEY PART - fitting the loose foot back on to the springy part!! I'm no wiser as to how to do it!

Could keep it simple with wall plug and screw to wall mount using notch on back of disc.

Yes, I saw it has a notch at the back. But those spring-loaded feet need parting or removing really to make it stay up. Plus, how many times I wonder would people in the house knock it off the wall.

Disappointing that this seems to have displaced a much better video on this issue. Frustratingly, it offers no guidance on arguably the hardest part of the whole process: opening up the disc itself. Secondly it advises the removal of the PCB, something that I have NEVER had to resort to, even when one of the the pivoting internal attachments for the foot fell out.
