Absolute BEST color packing video to date by anyone. This is the part I struggle so much with! I either end up chewing up the skin bad to saturate or damaging skin without ink depositing . I also would go through tons of needles thinking that the needle was the issue

Ayy that means a lot to me Dumpster! I truly appreciate your kind feedback and your support. I am grateful that you found value within this video. I understand how packing can be especially if we are just starting out. For me packing took a good while to grasp and execute as I do today and I feel like I have plenty of room for improvement. For me tho, this is a solid place to work and develop from here. Have you tried to pack since watching this video?

I struggle a lot on my packing & I've seen lots of videos about it but this is for sure the easiest video to understand this very concept

Great video. Thank you!! Makes a ton of sense. I think I may need to adjust my stroke a bit. I like to keep it on the low end for shading. For the whipping & stipple. I’m going to play with that & see how it goes.

Man, I've been having a time color packing in my hand. seems like one of the hardest places to get any ink to stick... maybe you can give some tips on getting full saturation in human hands. love your work and thanks.
@DanielYuck29 күн бұрын
I can make this happen! Thank you for the recommendation. I am curious, what healing results do you get when you are packing color on your hand. Does the color fully fall out?
@HitPlayListZАй бұрын
Thinking about oit right after that comment .. I begin to think that the reason im having a giant problem is i cant stretch my own skin on my other hand.. So that may be a big factor.
@FlyingWithTheWindАй бұрын
Try lots of duct tape🫡
@stressfacture29 күн бұрын
if you cant stretch the skin, you cant tattoo correctly, if you are tattooing yourself and cant stretch the skin, the skin is either taught already, (only really happens on balled up fists) or you dont have correct technique. learn to stretch otherwise you wont progress.
@HitPlayListZ29 күн бұрын
@@stressfacture got ya. yea ive never had a problem stretching the skin when tattooing my legs.. but yea when trying to tattoo the top of my hand and fingers ive had tyrouble.. next time ill see if i can get my wife to stretch the skin for me lul
@DanielYuck29 күн бұрын
Stretching the skin is a huge factor when it comes to packing. It isn't the only factor that would contribute to patchy saturation. But it can be a main cause as to why 1 may not be accomplishing full saturation.

Perhaps for the back of your hand you may anchor the hand on a solid surface…. Then ball the area you want to tattoo. For the palm splaying your fingers should tighten the skin.

Given hand speed being a variable, what would you consider a low voltage "range" for a 45 mag on a high stroke machine?
@DanielYuck27 күн бұрын
So let's say my machine is anywhere from a 4mm-5mm stroke and I am running a 45 mag, I would consider 5 volts a lower voltage for this large of a needle grouping. I would adjust my voltage anywhere from 4-6 volts using a 45 mag and kind of see if I need more or less voltage depending on the results my technique yields.

@@DanielYuck That is BEYOND helpful, thank you so much!!

What would your hand movement look like for 6-7 volts with rotary
@DanielYuck27 күн бұрын
Ohh thats a good one! If I had to guess I would say I'd be making the same circular motions but with a hand speed that is a bit faster because at 6-7 volts the needle will be making more rounds which means I will not need as much time in the skin.
@inkslinger3529 күн бұрын
So slower hand that equals lower voltage as well even with you using a 45 mag ?
@DanielYuck29 күн бұрын
It would depend on your technique and the machine you are using. If you have a harder hitting machine you may want to compensate for the harder hit by having a lower voltage. There is no set in stone approach but for me this is my logic when it comes to packing. I hope this answers your question.

I've never used a curved mag pack... I use regular mags.. is this common practice? 🤔

I was watching a video where you was tattooing a skin over a fake hand and i was thinking wouldnt it be easier to tape the fake skin to a pool noodle and let it act as a forearm or just act like a piece of the body i think it would work really great because you can go deep or shallow and it would be a great training source to see if you could really tattoo!
@DanielYuck29 күн бұрын
Ahhh this is actually a great idea! I think that placing fake skin on a pool noodle would be fantastic to give us that curvature surface. I will have to try this out and see how it goes. If you try it out let me know how you liked it.

Wait so what's the difference between lining ink and any other black?? What difference is there in the qualities
@DanielYuck29 күн бұрын
Thats a great question! So from my experience I have noticed that lining ink tends to be way more fluid like and takes forever to dry out when left out. With other inks for packing black as an example such as Zuper Black from Intenze, this ink is designed to accomplish full saturation where some inks like Intenze Formula 23 lining ink are for more detailed or letter tattoos. Inks are in fact made different from what I have seen.
@J_k4-728 күн бұрын
@DanielYuck thank you for explaining that lol , I was like wait a second. Ok so that explains why it's always a bit patchy when I try to pack the same ink I used for lining!! You're the best yuck !! Thanks again man

Whatever I try between my hand speed and my voltage, I haven't found the "sweet spot"... I practice tooday on a fake skin, I'm running the unlimited sol nova (stroke 4). I have tried between 4.7 V and 8 V. With a 15 mc needle cartridge... Never find the good timing and so a good result. I finish with a non consistent paking, never dark as be.Can you guide me a little?
@DanielYuck27 күн бұрын
Packing can be very very very tricky to dial in correctly. How long have you been practicing packing of black? It is hard to say what voltage you should use because I am not sure how the sol nova pushes. What I will say is to start with a lower voltage that doesn't have your machine screaming loud. Start at a lower voltage and use the very tips of the mag needles to open the skin and allow your needle to make enough rounds to deposit the ink in a clean, solid, consistent manor. The easiest way to accomplish inconsistent results is to have a fast hand with high voltage. This will make us move more quicker versus how we should be moving. Moving our hand too fast doesn't give our needle enough time to do it's job. Try to use the exercise/method that I share with you at 2:05 in this video. This will help you understand how the needles are depositing ink a bit better.
