I’ve only just come across this great channel, you’re not only an accomplished mechanic (unlike most fitters these days) you’re a great tuber, replying to almost all comments and taking note of feedback. I just love Land Cruisers, especially my old HZJ80, no ECUs, no computers, no turbo, it’s just a grunt diesel tractor🤣. “Needs testing” I like it, any excuse 🤣. You went well and best of all, I am sure you have encouraged other people to give it a go. A tip I seen when setting the bearing preload I guess you would call it, if you can find one of them old torque wrenches with the gauge and long pointer type dials put your big socket on and when you turn it will show the torque if that makes sense.

22:23 A shovel spade actually works REALLY well for positioning heavy / large wheels back onto the hubs Danie. Similar method to what you used but a shovel / spade gives you better leverage and control plus will not sink into soft ground. You use the tip of the spade to support the bottom of the tyre so the heal of the shovel/ spade then acts as a fulcrum. A lot less effort required. All the best from the West :)

Great video. Run my own heavy equipment repair business in UK. Have four vehicles to look after at home. I can not get my lady to even check her oil or fill a washer bottle, Her excuse i live with a fitter. I cant complain as she good at joinery and all the do the house stuff. Nice truck, beautiful smile and i subscribed. Forgot to mention i run a highly modified disco 2 with a full overland setup, not that we got space to play here. I don't have a concrete slab and this is how I work on my own rig. Jacks (factory and highlift) stands, timber and tie-downs for bolt-hole realignment. Makes you think outside the box and eliminates that idealist thought process where people can't do a job because they haven't got the ideal set-up area or tooling. "Just get 'er done!"

Great job but just to be picky i wouldn't rely on a bottle jack alone while you are working on your heavy cruiser get a car stand or some blocks of wood under there should the jack fail

Good on you for having a go. I've done this job a few times on my Landcruiser and one good investment I made was a brass hammer from SuperCrap, I also get those cone washers out by any means possible and the brass hammer is easier than a drift and only cost like $30
