I watched this interview live at rod laver arena, it was so entertaining that I have to come back to watch this video again… I also caught him at his warm up session before his match today, he spent a lot of time giving autographs and taking selfies with his fans afterwards, such a chill and lovable guy!!

The best thing about these interviews is that they are two very nice guys, one American, the other Russian and the get along like they were close friends. Something some politicians should reflect on...

This is one of the top few feel good stories of the AO for me this year. Daniil probably played the best tennis in 2022 AO but lost a slam because the crowd treated him poorly and were big on Rafa making history at the time. Definitely let it get to him. Daniil did some jerk moves in anger as well in some matches with umpires etc to help fuel that fire. But he's really making an effort to improve relations with the Aussie crowd and I really think he's turning the table. A player now that looks like he's really enjoying himself out here. And im not even sure if his tennis is quite as good as 2021-22 level, yet anyway. But his engagement and popularity are really improving. This guy has great tennis IQ and im sure realises the AO hard courts suit his game well and still reflect great Slam winning opportunities. No one is giving more back to the fans it seems in their media work this year. The guy finished at 340am and first thing he did was thank the crowd. Novak is class but Daniil I think is more relateable to ur average fan and you can see how much he is enjoying it. I hope its a real turning point for him

Courier did the same thing against Agassi in the French Open final …just not as far back! Jim was told by his coach to take a step back on the return of serve and it definitely helped him get an advantage against Andre and Jim ended up winning it. I’m so proud of both Jim and Andre as I knew them when we were all protégés of Nick Bollettieri back in the mid 80’s. Bravo Danil for winning a tough match

Daniil is the best. But you know who is also the best: Jim Courier! Hands down the best tennis interviewer ever. He's not some talking-head corporate sportscaster, thank God, but instead a real-by-God former star in the sport who loves the game and always brings out the best in the personalities of players while always striving to understand what they do and how they do it. He is phenomenal, leaving all the other hot-air specialists in his wake. What a great segment!!

The terminal speed of a tennis ball is 76 kmh. A serve slows down rapidly. The only problem standing back is the return does the same thing. Medvedev is smart enough to find his own comfort zone

Is the Umpire’s chair an accident waiting to happen ? ? The chair looks great BUT . . . I’m really concerned for any player running towards that spot, usually for a drop-shot, the thin edge of the base of the chair appears extremely dangerous and could cause a serious injury. Maybe the chair could be positioned a little bit further back or raised higher than head height. It should definitely have some ‘safeguards’ around the edge.
