What is your favourite piece performed by Daniil Trifonov?
@amystruble47305 жыл бұрын
I saw on KZbin Daniil perform Scriabin's Piano Sonata No 3. Definitely my favorite!
@georgestefanou52405 жыл бұрын
This is the most difficult question as Daniil seals everything he plays! However, if I had to choose a piece, this would be Rachmaninoff's 3rd concerto or perhaps Schumann's Symphonic Etude No. 11...💖

In Berlin, hipsters drink a LOT of Mate though. Such a disgusting beverage. I have been to a lot of places, still it amazes me how the people in my own home country seem to consume some of the most revolting liquids to be invented. Kombucha seems to me like most harmless one of them.

I love the depth added by the middle lines starting at 0:54 and mainly at 1:03. It is not heard as well in most recordings, which is why Sultanov’s was my favorite because of how clearly well voiced it was, but it overpowered the main melody. The way Trifonov does it here is incredible because it is clear enough to be noticed but not overpowering the melody.

When I started to build a vinyl collection back in the late 70's there were a number of estblished greats to choose from, playing this work. I went for Lazar Berman, and tho not quite up there with Horovitz and his shading, felt a strong interpretation. Trifonov in this performance is really special, I feel. A great interpreter of other works too. He and Nikolai Lugansky really capture something special, amongst the so many other fine performers of today
