The Boss is the main antagonist of Just Shapes & Beats. It is a pink horned entity (or to a softer extent, a pink cat) that causes mayhem throughout the land of Paradise by corrupting the so-called "Tree of Life" and splitting it into three different parts throughout the game's world. It was responsible for the creation of the Tower and battles the player in several different occasions. Appearance Like all other obstacles and enemies throughout the game, the Boss, in most situations, is outlined in harmful pink, with no fill inside. Its initial form is typically seen having a circular head with eyes, triangles above its head, which represent horns or cat ears, and triangles below the eye, which represents sharp teeth. I think I know why the bad guy does this. He knows he's the biggest badass, the most epic, the best music maker in the land, and sees all other music in the land as lesser. Knowing the rest of Paradise wouldn't agree with him and his aggressive metal/electronic/rock music, he decides that corrupting them all with his pink-ness is the only way for him to show his full potential as a music maker and for him to shine. When Blue Square gets revived and kicks his ass, he somehow comes back to life and decides that all music is equal, he shouldn't judge books by their covers, and that the only way he can truly show how great he is is to be friendly and become a friendly DJ to diversify the beats of Paradise. So, The Boss (or Blixer or Fresh, whatever the hell you people call him) isn't actually a bad guy. He's just misguided.
