Slesvigske Fodregiment (Schleswig Foot Regiment) was my regiment as a voluntary conscript from 1977 to 1978, at that an motorised infantry company operating as an integrated part of an armoured battalion consisting of a command and support company, two armoured companies with Leopard 1 tanks, a mechanised infantry company with M113 armoured personnel carriers and fnally the motorised infantry company with Unimog 4x4 trucks - my company was to do all infantry work on foot, infiltrating behind enemy lines during the night was one of our special tasks ... friendly greetings from former Danish Army reserve infantry combat medic ...

so a down/up grade of the recon unit from Holsterbro. that did recon, sabo, infiltration and smaller skrimish with 6 troops (1sgt, 1 pointman, 2heavys+medics and 2 carl gustav) +2 recon vehicle. would like to see their operation specification. fortes fortina juvat.

There is an interview with the guy who joined the Foreign Legion after seven years in the SEALS, where he says the best soldiers he ever met was the Danish Mechinf he was stationed with in the Baltics. I suspect he meant best "regular" soldiers, and it is amusing to hear the right-wing ultra-patriotic host say "So they are as good as ours".
