+Sara Burns yes, but the difference is, that you literally have to know it by hearth. there aren't any rules for en/et den/det. This is also why danish is one of the hardest languages to learn. you just have to know.

I lived in Copenhagen for 4 months last year, and I found it so funny to hear Danes talking super fast in Danish, and the only thing I could understand was the English swear words that came out every so often. When I move back to Denmark eventually I will watch this video again to relearn some of the most important words in Danish ;)

Goksu Boz I know right so I live in Denmark and we had this one thing we had to learn a few years ago, I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was something really stupid where you had to recognize the difference between two kinds of vocals in words (or something like that) and there was no way to hear the difference when you spoke, it made no diffenrence when you wrote it down, and it was hard as hell so if it made no difference at all, WHY DID WE HAVE TO LEARN. MY TEACHER DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHY (Just had to get my childhood rant out there, phew)

I didn't ask anyone what it meant or anything. so I was bullied a lot and I despised this one girl that the was picking on me. the teacher asked what was wrong and I just yelled outside on the playground crying "SHE'S PISSING ME OFF >_

I had a bestfriend in elementary school, and there was this rumor about my uncle going around.. about him sexually harrassing a girl. It was on the newspaper 11 years ago. tbh i don't know if it's true, but it has NOTHING to do with me.. My bestfriend's parents disliked me and told their daughter to stay away from me, and stop visiting my home.. Not only my bestfriend's parents knew, but apparantly most of the kids in my class were told by their parents about this.. which led to me being a paranoid loner. They must think my family are rapists or something. And it was 11 YEARS AGO.. Why does my family's past have to haunt me?

Det er ikke kræftædemig - det er kraftedermig - Kraft eder betyder simpelthen - kraftige bandeord. Det har intet at gøre med kræft. Det er en gammel måde at sige : "Jeg ville sige nogle kraftige bandeord, men i stedet for at sige kraftige eder (bandeord), siger jeg blot kraft eder" - Det er en måde at bande på, uden at rent faktisk bande

Same is true for Dutch and Danish. Many words are pretty similar, but the cursing is different. We say "pik" as slang for penis and they do too. And a stupid woman can be called a "doos" basically meaning "cunt" and it is almost the same in Danish. But otherwise....none of these have any bearing with Dutch cursing as far as I know.

I am not sure if "fanden" is the devil, but the variant "For S*tan i helvede!!" is more easily translated: "For the benefit of S*tan in H*ll!!" I guess it is often used like "Så ... dog ... for Satan i hede hule helvede!!" and similar.

well, fanden is just another name for satan, but i think "the devil" is a more appropriate translation since i don't actually say "satan". we rarely do here in thy, "fanden" is far more widely used.

Swearing in one's primary language is more visceral than a secondary language. Having said that, "cerote' (say: sɪ̈ɾo.te) means a loose turd (not "shit"...but more a more watery stool, like a cow shit) in Central America. The distinction is that a "shit" or "mierda" is more clever than the lazy and stupid "turd". A turd is passive, while the shit is more active/perky. If you want to decorate the "cerote", then you append "asoleado", which means "sun-baked", but not dried, which is far more unpleasant. It's like calling someone a crust-covered diarrhea.

Hej! I have a question. I'm currently translating Riders of Justice to Dutch and they keep saying something like "spasse arm" to Otto's (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) arm. But i can't find this word "spasse" (or however it is spelled) anywhere. I think Otto has a case of "withered arm syndrome", but i don't think that translates directly to "spasse"... I think it's meaning is more derigatory. Would like to hear from you!

Im also expressing myself a lot through swearings and its just so funny when my boyfriend tries to pronounce them (he's danish) so i would love to hear how does it sounds from you. The words: kurvaisten basszameg (this is actually one word when you say it and it means smthing like motherfucking god and its one of the most popular swearing in hungary...:D The other word is lófasz which means basically horsedick.... and the last one is "a picsaba" and it means forhelvede...:D so these are the words and i hope i can hear it from you:)

Not exactly a swear word here, but in Australia we use the word “Derro” to basically infer someone is unkempt. Like most Aussie lingo, derro is just an abbreviation, as we are shortening the word "derelict" (because we are so extremely lazy - It’s the Heat Ok!) To put in a sentence “Oh, did you see Kevvo (abbrv. Kevin) today at the servo (gas station), he looked like a bloody Derro.” And we may throw some f’s or c’s in there because Australians really, really like to swear. Another closely related word is “Bogan” and this may refer to a stereotypical Okka type Australian who drives a Holden Commodore, has a packet of ciggies stuck up in their sleeve, lives in outer (Derro) suburbs and collects Centrelink (welfare) payments. Both derro’s and bogans can usually be found in their home habitat sat on the couch watching footy (AFL) and drinking VB (cheap beer) out of a tinny (beer can) ..Isn’t cultural learning fun!!

When I was in basic training for the U.S. Army (many, many years ago), I used swear a lot (especially the f-bomb). One day I was talking to a few fellow soldiers, and I didn't know that the Drill Sergeant was standing on a balcony above me. Suddenly I heard him call down to me, and he said "Damn, you swear a lot!" You know it's pretty bad when a Drill Sergeant says that. xD I was embarrassed. Haha.

"Kraftedeme" does not translate to cancer, but power. "power eat me", or to make more sense: I ate some powerful words, so i dont have to say them out loud. Someone else pointed this out in danish, but i wanted to make it clear in english too. "Kraftedeme" is a form of swearing where you dont swear directly. It is swearing of course. And IT is really nice to pronounce! Imagine saying "kraftedeme" and then directly swear too in your sentence, what is it youre holding back then? xD

We have 'narhat' which directly translates to foolshat. It is the closest thing we have to 'asshat' however we have another word with similar meaning 'røvbanan.' It's rarely used, but it's translates directly to "ass banana." xD

In 5th grade, I broke my nose playing baseball, because I kind of suck at team sports. Well for the next week or two my nose was a little sensitive, and a girl in one of my classes kind of was just playing around and ended up hitting my sensitive nose and it damn near dropped me to the ground. Well while holding my nose I screamed "you bitch" at her (it was obvious I had broken it, my face was a yellow and blue bruised turd)... both of my teachers were standing right there, and for some reason, they didn't like that.

Kraftedme does not translate to cancer-eat-me. Cancer in Danish is Kræft, with an Æ. Kraft means power. Ed means oath. To eat is Æd. So it translates to Power-Swear-On-Me. "Power" likely refers to God. It either means God Promise Me or God Curse Me.

English is my main language but i do speak some Japanese because my dad is from Japan...but they don't really swear much because they're too polite, lol. But i will say that baka means idiot and kuso basically means shit, or crap. When you're really mad and you want to say kuso, the u is pretty short/silent and it ends up sounding more like KSSSO! If that makes sense to you...

there aren't really swear words like there are in other languages, no. there are words that are used in a very negative way but there aren't many ACTUAL swear words just because the language is set up to be very polite and formal. :)

I had a friend whom my dad didn't like at all. He REALLY didn't like her, but he never said it to me or to her. I read it, because I know how to read people enough heh... but He didn't say anything bad about the people I spent a lot of time with. regardless of how he felt about it.

Once when i was very young i invented a word. Basically, i wanted it to be a new swear word that only i would know about so that i could use it and not get in trouble. I was very clever that way. So i cleverly called my dad 'a fuck' to his face and learned that it was already a word. I hadn't even used it correctly apparently. To this day i maintain that my word is a legally separate entity. I should be compensated for getting in trouble all those years ago. Maybe i should copyright it?

"For katten!" means "For (the benefit of) the cat!" It is derived from "For Fanden" Other variations are "For Dælen!" and "For Søren!". Dælen instead of Djævelen (the Devil) and Søren instead of Satan.

I've always sworn. However, my parents do not like swearing and I was always yelled at for it. Now I'm 21 years old and even though I don't get in trouble for swearing, I still receive a disapproving look from my mother. I actually got so tired of getting in trouble for swearing that I began learning swear words in Russian and German so my Mom couldn't yell at me. My favorite swear word in German is "Saumensch" which I was taught is basically the female version of a bastard. My favorite phrase in Russian is "Удар меня сука" which translates in English to "Blow me bitch." Or you can just shorten it to "bitch" with "сука".
