Hence they are called Urdu speaking or Hindustani (Hindustani language is the combined name of Hindi Urdu language). A more historically, appropriate would be Hindavi people, (Hindavi= old name of Urdu) but this term is only found in historical records. The most coliliqual term is "Muhajir" which is of political origin. But today widely accepted and apoliticized.
