You are my (go to) for sleep everytime. You could tell a story about anything, it wouldn't matter. I am asleep after you say, "The space between my words". I still don't understand it. But it works everytime. Thank you, Dan.

I ad-lib all of my sleep meditations live on air Monday nights during the live Sleep Meditation Creation sessions where viewers give me random words and ideas to create a meditation with and then 30 minutes into the session I tell people to close their eyes and then I just create the story.

There was an ad half way through, totally defeats the purpose
@DanJonesHypnosis4 жыл бұрын
I have no control over that. I have midroll ads set to off, but KZbin overrules creators and they put ads in the middle of videos if we have set our settings for ads not to appear. I always recommend seeing if there are three yellow marks showing ads will play and if there are don't watch those videos at this time. I've raised this issue a lot with KZbin. For about 18 months they denied doing this, but near the end of last year in their own channel where they give creators updates they said this was something they have been trialling to make more income for everyone and are now rolling it out to more videos. The Honest Guys did a video about it towards the end of last year because they get these comments on their videos where they don't have ads set to play but KZbin plays them anyway. It is the biggest issue I have with KZbin which is why I make all my sleep meditations now available elsewhere like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music etc and my own podcast, so that people can listen knowing for sure that no ads will play...

The story was interesting but I find that I fall asleep during pauses, only to wake again as soon as the story resumes. I finally gave up just when the fortune teller made its appearance.

Are these stories supposed to help with certain things; like maybe quitting smoking, bad habits etc, like your typical hypnosis session but why are you sleep?? Or is it just supposed to help you go to sleep???
@DanJonesHypnosis4 жыл бұрын
I make them all to help with stress, anxiety and worry. In the past a few years ago when I would occasionally make meditations like these they were often for different things, but since making my channel a sleep meditation channel at the end of 2019 I've focused on them all being for stress, anxiety and worry. Occasionally I include therapy for other things, but they are always these things. I also make them to help the listener sleep. To get the most therapeutic benefit for stress, anxiety and worry it is best to not fall asleep, but to be awake engaging with the whole meditation because once someone falls asleep they stop engaging with what they are listening to and so it's effectiveness reduces, the same with any other meditation or hypnosis track. So the tracks have two positives, if someone is struggling to sleep because they worry and are anxious a lot and struggle with stress and they fall asleep quickly to these, then they have responded to the sleep suggestions given at the beginning and are getting benefit from this with a little bit of support to manage stress, anxiety and worry depending how far into the track they get. If they with the track but don't fall asleep and make it through the full track, then they will have got maximum benefit from the therapeutic content of the track which will help them to manage stress better, worry less and handle anxiety better, which in turn will help them sleep better in the future, both falling asleep quicker and having better quality of sleep. And those who want the best of both worlds can listen at night to fall asleep and then listen as a standard meditation during the day, sat in a chair at a time they aren't likely to be tired or falling asleep to benefit from the therapeutic content. These are just like my typical hypnosis sessions (an example of which you can see linked to in the description where I'm demonstrating therapy with a client I've never worked with or met before in front of a group of students I was teaching), but I add in the suggestion for sleep at the beginning so that the ideas presented for absorption into the experience and the techniques used for this encourage sleep as well as absorption in the experience.

If it’s that good. Why is it on for 2 hrs? Surely only need a few minutes?
@alicialim43184 жыл бұрын
It is that good but some people may like to pick up where they remember leaving off the previous night....or some people just like to listen during the day to relax...and it's not two hours it's one hour, twenty two minutes..he also has shorter stories they range from anything between twenty minutes to over an hour,so if you don't like the length of this maybe you can try one of the shorter ones.
