I think my favourite take on the foldable/dual screen phones is LG's dual screen case. It's an optional accessory that you don't have to use but it transforms a lot of phones in their lineup to dual screen ones all with a simple case. Makes web browsing and messaging at once amazing and there's no reason for one uniform display with a layout like that.

I'd just like to share to all those getting recommended this video now. The flip in this video is the first gen, The newer ones (the 3 and 4) have removable screen protectors. So when the screen protector starts de-laminating in the crease(which is what happened to this one) you can easily peel it off, buy a new protector for about 10 bucks, and replace it. I have had my flip 3 for over a year now, and the only scratch on it is a tiny scratch on the back panel cause I set it on a rock without a case.

That’s his whole point, you can’t sell a foldable phone and expect people to “just be gentle with it.” I mean if you do something stupid with it that’s on you but if I bought this I would be flipping it open with one hand like the days of old flip phones, if it can break from that then we got a lawsuit on our hands.

@@flux_time To be honest I don’t agree with you. Most of those old flip phones could obviously be broken by hand back in the day, but you could still snap it open, and if it did break you could have it repaired or buy a new one. The fact that these phone companies are allowed to make phones that literally break themselves, sell them for thousands of dollars, and then tell you you’re not allowed to fix it or have it repaired, is absurd. These companies deserve any lawsuits thrown their way because the way I see it they’re scam artists taking advantage of consumers gullibility.

When I was taking mech eng classes, they taught us about "fatigue limit" which is basically the amount of times you can apply a load (in this case, folding). Something like this should've been thoroughly tested and the engineers absolutely knew that it wasn't going to be ready for shipment. You would need a fatigue limit in the tens of thousands at least for this to be a viable mainstream product

I love my Flip 3. I knew it would have issues being such new tech but I went into it expecting that. After about a year and a half it is finally starting to show damage on the hinge. Other than that my one complaint is the size of the outer screen which leaks of the flip 5 seem to be fixing

@keifferellison45 3 жыл бұрын
@@sometechydude2324 yeah I still don't think the armor analogue works here. Armor has padding on the inside, not spikes...and the phone doesn't scrape against the inside of your pocket. @@keifferellison45 No duh armor usually has padding inside and not spikes, I made up something unrealistic because I felt it made the best analogy, if you think the analogy doesn’t work because it’s unrealistic that’s fine, I just don’t see it. Also, what tf are you talking about in the parentheses? When did I say anything scratched against anything? Also, am I putting my phone against rocks? What? I’m talking specifically about the phone in the video and how the middle got destroyed, and how one of the selling points Samsung made was that a folding screen protected your screen, did you just not watch the video or even look at the thumbnail before going into the comments? I’m genuinely confused.

I loved my K770i ("Cybershot"). The Sony Ericsson OS was the best "java" type phone OS, it was almost as good as a smart phone, you could install opera, a game boy emulator, a mail client and so on. Sony Ericsson feature phones were amazing. The standard themes sucked, but I found a great Windows Vista theme for mine that matched my PC at the time. I really miss the times when phones lasted a week or more.

None of these 'foldable phones' out right now from should've been released. Let's be honest, they did it for the marketing. They're all gonna have some kind of disadvantage. It's the same reason people keep upgrading to the latest iPhone every single year despite minimal reason to do so.
