Sudan along with Egypt & Ethiopia were the only 3 participants in the inaugural edition of the African cup of nations in 1957 , this is besides winning the tournament in 1970 ! Hence Sudan never was and never will be small when it comes to football in Africa, you got to have a look at how passionate the Sudanese fans are about football, they love it !
