If it’s something that I think will bring me value, I have the extra funds and I have a way to verify the source than I’ll do my own research on the spot and if verified I’ll buy. But I guess I didn’t become that way until I worked in a door-to-door sales job for awhile and saw this direct toward me. Love the video Dan!

love this stuff Dan. Not too many people talking about it without putting most of it behind a paywall. I understand your goal is to get me in the door and get some teaching revenue but if I can't get my concerns addressed then I am not going to bother. You are right about being gun shy when it comes to buying things. Everyone knows now more than ever that companies are finding more and more ways to try and trick you out of your money, the sneaky upsale. One of the most recent bad apples I have experienced are buying a car. I went to buy a car a few years ago. I had just gone back to college and had just graduated. I got a certificate that you could redeem to get a substantial amount of money (like 3 or 4k) to put onto a car to help with getting a job and relocation. Because I had heard so many horror stories about car salesman I went online and looked for the car I wanted. I wanted something basic, cheap, but not too cheap until I got a job within my field. I found the car, looked at the manufacturers website to find inventory. Found the car and grabbed the lot#. I called the dealership and sure enough IMMEDIATELY they are trying to push me onto an expensive, fully loaded SUV. I'm like look man I just told you I JUST graduated and I have a job but not a high paying job. I can't afford a fully loaded SUV. I want this car with this lot# and nothing else. Ill make you a deal. Ill get a much better job and then come back and buy a much better vehicle as I really don't want a tiny, cheap car (I'm 6'4"). The dealership that had the car was over an hour away so I asked if he could hold the car while I drive up there. I have some cash for down payment, my car for trade in and voucher from my school for graduating. I told him its ok if you can't hold it but I don't want to drive up there and it be sold and have to turn around as I am not buying anything else. He said no problem and I drove up there. I pull in and the first thing he does is get my car and sends it off for appraisal. We keep talking and he tries to up-sale me again. I'm like I DON'T have the funds man. I literally do not. I'm your worst customer I am very sorry you are not going to make much money off of me. Come to find out the car I wanted WAS sold while I was driving up there. I was annoyed as that is why I called and verified before driving an hour and a half. I told him to give me my car back and I will continue to look for another one like the one I wanted. He said that he couldn't and that the deal was already made and that my car was THEIRS! I had no choice but to buy another one. I was furious and got loud and told him to give me my car back and he apologized again and said he couldn't that the car was gone. I said ok i'm going to call the police now. I walked outside and dialed 911. I was explaining them the situation and that I needed an officer to help me as my car was being stolen. At this point the manager comes out and is very concerned and asks me what is going on. I tell him the situation and that the police are on the phone. He tells me and the police that he is sorry and that he will get me my car back. I finally get talking with the manager and explain the whole situation. They eventually get another salesman to help me and they find a nicer car and give it to me at the price of the one that I came for. Then the other salesman comes over and not 10 feet in front of me, begin arguing over commission. I'm absolutely fuming at this point and ready to bodyslam him. It was a 12k car, how much commission could there be? I really didn't want the car but my car was not doing so well, was old, and falling apart. I thought I had a job across the country and so I stayed and finally got the car. I've never in my life purchased something I resented so much. It should have been a happy occasion but I made to contact the better business bureau and I called the police back on a regular line and explained what happened in further detail in case they needed to be investigated for doing this to other people. No more new cars for me. I don't care how much it costs I will get a dealer license and go to the dealer auction to get my cars from now on.

I forgot what the product was, but I know I was sold from the advertisement. I went to the website immediately, card in hand, ready to buy it. But the website was sooooo sketchy. It had this little “spin wheel” thing that popped up that you HAD to spin. To which it would then land on a “discount 25% code” every time. It had the timer that said the product would no longer be on sale after a certain amount of time. Creating a sense of urgency. But there were two things that made me decide I no longer trusted the website. 1. The fact that I HAD to spin the pop up. I couldn’t exit out of it, or click away. While I realized it was a nice little gimmick to give you a discount code in a fun way, the fact that I had absolutely no choice in partaking in the pop up gimmick immediately drained my trust in the website and created a slight sense of fear in a brand that was already unknown to me. 2. I’ve seen this exact same website layout and spin wheel gimmick on a few other websites I deemed sketchy as well. Seeing the repetitive layout bothered me and I decided the product was no longer worth it. I went back to the advertisement and saw a bunch of people commenting that they felt the same way about the website, it all felt sketchy and scary lol. Only validating my belief it was a scammy product lol

I’m a writer by nature, been writing since I was a child and copy writing is what interest me. Please help me to become a copy writer. I’ve chosen case studies as my nich and I believe that’s within B2B but I don’t have the training....
