Danmakufu - Celestial Boundaries (AoCF-styled Yukari Yakumo and Tenshi Hinanawi boss fight)

This is my entry for the LoCAA 11 contest! This time the theme was to make a boss fight in the style of the battles from Antinomy of Common Flowers. That being, the bosses "tag out" in the middle of attacks. It was a fun opportunity to make attacks/gimmicks that "synergized" with each other.
The contest theme actually reminded me of my old Tenshi vs Yukari script, "Celestial Showdown", so I figured why not bring them back?~ Of course their involvement in AoCF itself gave me some inspiration for new ideas, so coming up with spell cards wasn't too difficult.
On a side note, I just managed to figure out what I want to do for April Fool's Day this year. But since I'm working full-time now, I probably won't have a full script ready in time. But at the VERY LEAST, I'll definitely be putting out some sort of video that day -- likely a teaser for the full script.

Fun fact! In Tenshi's AoCF scenario, Tenshi causes Yukari to show genuine anger for the first time in the series.

Oh yes! Though their meeting in SWR may possibly count as well. Then again in that game it's not as easy to tell how "serious" Yukari was, but I recall in her scenario that she was talking about how she was going to make Tenshi "become deceased for a bit."

Yeah, this was great. Every spell here felt really damn creative and unique. It's kinda weird, considering how a year or two back they were chucking lasers and trains at each other and now they're... Well, they must really have made up during that tea party. Oh, yeah, umm, second. That's still a relevant and le funny thing to say, right?

Nice, glad you noticed. I still like some fanmade engines more than Danmakufu, I think, but you definitely put a lot of work into making the engine work well. So recently I downloaded a toooooon of these scripts, and I've noticed that a majority of them isn't allowing Reimu to be used as the player character, instead the default Rumia, making it... Making me just not wanna play it to put it bluntly :p I know this is probably a mistake on my end. I simply download the scripts, extract them and send them into Danmakufu's script folder. Am I missing something? Upon viewing the contents of scripts, some contain the player character's folder, while the problem scripts don't. I did try messing around and putting player character folders from the other scripts into these folders, though that didn't work for reasons I don't understand, having little knowledge of Danmakufu script. Or perhaps I missed some instructions? Sorry if I'm being a waste of time TwT

Which scripts in particular are giving you the problems? Many of my older scripts didn't include a player character, so you could play as anyone in your default danmakufu folder (put player scripts inside the "player" folder, which should be inside your "script" folder in the Danmakufu directory). I only recently started including my own player characters bundled with scripts to make certain gimmicks possible.

I seeee, thank you. The scripts that lack player character folders include: Cacophonous Cadre, Celestial Showdown, Master of Worlds, Praise The Sun and Recollection of Scripters Past. So 5 out of the 11 I downloaded I was unable to play. Now that you explained the reasoning, I feel so dumb, especially considering how basic that is and I should know it, being on a games design course .w. Thank you again, and good luck with all your future projects, we all always look forward to what you have in store for the future~ Another question, do you mind people streaming your scripts? I was hoping to show some of my friends these scripts, both the serious and funny ones :p

Hi AJS!!! I want to question you something, How to make two bosses at same time in danmakufu??

So the thing I found while trying to make multi-boss scripts is that Danmakufu literally cannot recognize two different bosses at the same time. You can define one of them as the "Boss", but the other one I just designated as a standard "enemy". In this particular script, there's actually only ever one boss. I just change their sprites to show the character change :P But in other scripts like, say, the original Celestial Showdown, Tenshi was the main "boss" while Yukari was just a regular "enemy". However, I was able to create two hitboxes for Tenshi -- one on top of Tenshi herself, the other on top of Yukari. Shooting either one of these would make Tenshi's health go down, and hence I gave them a shared healthbar.

Well idk the results But from my opinion, even though the gimmick is very well done, It lacks beauty of bullet patterns Probably a bit bias because i'm a fan of Shijimi Nono and their complex yet beautiful patterns
