Danmakufu - Phantasmal Mastermind (Yukari Yakumo boss battle)

I've had this script sitting in my backlog for quite some time. With two other scripts I'm actively working on now, I feared that if I didn't get this out soon, I never would. So I decided to cut the remaining spells, polish up what I have, and release it as-is so I can finally get it off my conscience. inhales Phew, I feel better already!
So as you can probably tell, this script is centered around gimmicks. I chose Yukari for this purpose, since her broad powers give me so much leeway for making gimmicks, thematically speaking (and because she's bae). I originally planned it to be twice as long, with even more gimmicks, but loss of motivation led me to put this project on hold. The gimmicks I scrapped may make their way into future scripts though...
I'd have to say this script's one of my more challenging ones--both to play, and to code (I swear some of those gimmicks nearly made me tear my hair out to make). I hope you enjoy!

omg... Elegant and brilliant as ever... The sort of geometrical/mathematical themes behind the spells reminded me of a time I remember ZUN discussing his passion for the math nerdiness behind the coding of danmaku, and made me feel as if all of these were really appropriate things to translate into it, while making me consciously appreciate what goes into it. "Perpetual Motion" was fun to watch, almost looked like Reimu was being made to dance to the music. AND "QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT" IS BOTH THE COOLEST GIMMICK _(LOVE THAT POFV)_ AND THE BEST CONCEPT. Like straddling two dimensions through a gap. As one entity, but simultaneously experiencing and following the rules of two worlds. Thanks as always for the amazingly clever entertainment, mastermind.

I was actually inspired to make mathematically-themed spells because of a Yukari spell I saw (I think it was in Len's Spellcard Collection?) titled "Maxwell's Demon", and of course because of the spell Yukari has in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody based on the Doppler Effect. And we can't forget that she also has that one spell in Immaterial and Missing Power based on perpetual motion, so this was just a logical extension for that. As for Quantum Entanglement, it was originally going to be a Shikieiki spell (where one half would be black, the other white) for a one-off project I was planning a while back, but since that fell through I adapted it to this script instead. And honestly, I feel it fits Yukari a bit better, especially considering the gimmicky nature :P

Just masterpiece. Seeing such a great gimmicks in spellcards made me think that it was incredibly difficult to code. And of course script is incredibly hard too. Tried playing it for 2h, ended up with 4 deaths - still satisfying ^^

Amazing as usual! Should've used Yukari's theme from Phantasmagoria Trues though, it fits this style of Yukari battle so well. In all honesty, you should make a full game, or something like Shijimi_nono's extra boss rush. It'd be amazing.

This was one of my favorite remixes of Evening Star, so I just had to use it :P And haha naw, I don't think I'd ever have the time nor patience to make a full game. But some time in the future, if time permits, I am planning to make a relatively long script featuring a certain... pure character.

I had no direct inspiration for the final spell aside from just PoFV itself o3o And you'll need to contact Blargel directly on the MotK forums to set up an account (here: www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1580). Trolls were plaguing the site with horrendously bad scripts and even hiding viruses and porn in them, so he disabled regular account registration. Now you can only make a new account by contacting him directly. So don't be "that guy", or you're gonna have a bad time >.>

Yeah it started off innocently enough with trolly scripts with stolen patterns from other scripters, but then there was one "script" uploaded that was just hundreds of megabytes of random stuff and scat porn, and one person even discovered a virus. So yeah, it got out of hand >_>

Huh, that's odd... Can you check the "Phantasmal Mastermind" folder and make sure there's a folder in it titled "player"? And if so, is there a folder titled "Reimu" inside of it?

There's no 'player' folder inside of it, though there are a lot of Reimu images and sounds etc. inside the Phantasmal Mastermind, maybe everything is inside the Phantasmal Mastermind for some reason... i just dont know which sounds and images belong to Reimu so i cant put them in a player folder :/

Huh, that is strange... I just double-checked the script download and everything is there. Try redownloading it maybe?

i do think that everything is in there but it doesnt come in folders when i extract them (while other scripts do). i download it, the files come in zip (that one program that has a symbol of the earth but with zip written on top of it), then i extract the files to whatever place i want (in this case the scripts folder) but when i extracted the files they didnt even come in a folder, they just appeared all over the scripts folder as files, then i created a folder and i put everything in it and then another folder called player to put everything that should belong to the player folder and then another one with Reimu to put everything of the player folder in it but, as i said before, i dont know which files belong to Reimu, such as sound and such.
