I prefer this version over the original, there's just so much emotion put into it here and I feel the weight of the lyrics...every time I sing this song I put all my emotion from personal experience into it. This song doesn't make me think of an ex, it makes me think of my very first "friend" I ever thought I'd made in my life suddenly showing their true colors and betraying me out of the blue one day. I felt a real sense of loss that day and it continued through the abuse my former "friend" put me through each day after the betrayal...I still don't know what I did to deserve that treatment...all I know is that I'm traumatized by it and it hurts...it hurts so much.
