OMW!!! Dan is "THE" Monster guitar player. I heard the first whiteheart Album in 1982 and my jaw hit the ground. The tone, the licks, the smok'in tasteful lines everywhere. I am like who is this guy. No one threw lightning off the strings like Huff. When you heard those runs you knew who put it down. I play today because of him. In 2017 Dan you still have it, thank you for all you did and do for music, rock guitar has never been the same. God blessed you with much talent.

Dann said in an interview that he did a test in his studio but realized that singing those high pitch parts just wasn't doable. Remember, the Giant albums was recorded 25 years ago and he probably haven't done much singing since then.

@mattevans060972 Жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same. I’ll guess it’s because Dan hasn’t sung much over the years and his voice struggles now? Just a guess.
@silixen-media6106 Жыл бұрын
Hi ! That could be the reason, I'm a Amateur-musician and when I had sung for a long time I also have to struggle with the high tones, but when I practice (mostly while driving alone in my car😂, because no one can/must hear !) it becomes better and better and easilier ! ... I'm the same guy as from "music-explorer71", I have several channels because of different topics!

Interesting how Dann doesn't sing just cruises through the tunes and gets to stroke off with his modified 64 Tyler/Strat. In the beginning Dann was the one singing these tunes in the earlier days. When I was talking with him he tells me" yeah and there WAS NO AUTOTUNE THEN".......

@chrislestermusic3 жыл бұрын
Ben Griffin From what I understand he doesn’t feel comfortable as a vocalist/front man. It seems like it was always a struggle for him from his perspective, however I think he was amazing. I also think he hasn’t sung that stuff in a long time so he most likely wasn’t in shape to do it. That is some challenging material. Bryan did a great job with it.
@benrgriffin3 жыл бұрын
@@chrislestermusic Thanks for that, such a shame, what a vocalist. It amazes me that really back in the day I was aware of Giant, but not to any great extent. I don't know why they slipped past the net. His vocals were as important as the melodies, harmonies and guitar work. Maybe one day he will do it again, pretty difficult reaching some of the notes though.
