For me, this job means that Steve gave the client back his memories, his best moments, his best feelings, his passion ... everything he needs or wants to live a happier life. Surely the client will take firmer steps with those boots. I think that is priceless. Great job Steve! 👍

A great job as usual Steve. As long as you have the money I see no problem in spending $900 restoring a favourite pair of boots. We are always being told to restore, reuse and recycle. You are saving the planet one pair of shoes/boots/bag at a time. Keep up the good work. Regards Rowena from the UK🇬🇧

I completely understand where this guy is coming from. It's not the $$$. I go around trying to find things I loved as a child, lost or broken, it's fun when I finally find the item. I know weird!! I enjoy watching these shoe repairs, people don't drop their shoes off to the shoe makers anymore, SAD. Takes a lot of talent. Beautiful work!! TY.

I can relate 100% to loving those boots because of the teeth marks. I had a car that my sister's gorgeous black lab loved riding in. It had puppy nose prints all over the quarter glass windows. I could never bring myself to wash those 2 windows after he crossed the rainbow bridge. I cried a bunch when I finally sold the car. Steve, your work is impeccable and I love every video you post.

Only other brand I've seen thats as resilient as Danners is Gripfast. I bought my 6 eye oxblood Gripfasts back in 2000 and they're still going strong. The Vibram soles will probably need replacing in the next year or so because they're almost worn smooth lol

Thanks for another informative video, Steve. Things I gleaned from this video: 1) Planning out a panel replacement, 2) Substituting materials (foam) with a suitable replacement, 3) Setting a shank 4) How to prevent "squeak potential" 5) Grommet removal and replacement 6) How to re-sole a stitchdown and potential problems which may arise, and thank you for sharing your mistake and how you corrected it. My questions: 1) How was the shank secured? Did it receive nails/cement? 2) You expressed a "love-hate relationship" with the Rapid E, which has me wondering why this machine was used instead of another stitcher like a Landis 12K (which is what I have). Is the Rapid E a straight needle machine? Thanks again for another great video!
