Just as we thought that Logan and DeVries would be good for something? We can't even properly use F2 or FE as a skill quality anymore when they are WDC for their series or close to the top and Antonelli has been 6th in F2 last year. Don't get your hopes up too much, especially at the start. He may catch on and show potential and become a great driver or he may flop horribly.
@javierplays9516Күн бұрын
@randomyoutubecommentersecu7639 logan & de vries are seperate cases. Logan finished 4th in a very uncompetitive F2 grid. De Vries won F2 yes, but it took him 3 seasons in the series. Gabriel Antonelli Colopinto only joined F2 in 2024 and they cooked. Don't just look at the f2 standings, see how experienced the driver is as well. Theres a reason teams dw drugovich or pourchaire, cos they took 3 seasons to win F2, same as de vries etc. Teams learnt their lesson with de vries

Let's get one thing clear, Bearman did not "Kill Sainz" he's not even that good, finishing 7th and getting signed to Haas is nothing. Ferrari's greed for Lewis Hamilton's *marketability* is what killed Sainz.
@malvinelpinnoyКүн бұрын
What about Sainz's unmarketability then? There's a lot of upsets that happened across the grid this year but Lewis' move to Ferrari wasn't one of those. Sainz deserved a good team but Ferrari is not the only good team. Redbull and Mercedes could've taken him in but they chose rookies instead. Lewis is no rookie and he has the package Ferrari needs at the moment. Maybe Sainz needs to change his management/agency from a cousin and get somebody more tailored & cutthroat with closing deals, somebody whose professional career depends on it.

Not business. His father against his decision jumping to mercedes.

"finishing 7th and getting signed to Haas is nothing" uhm what? finishing 7th on your first f1 race which was out of the blue and with one practice under your belt on one of the most difficult circuits on the calendar, and a street one too, when you're just 18 and under pressure for driving for ferrari is not actually nothing! also haas management made it clear that they are not hiring juniors anymore, unless proven to be good. let's not forget that leclerc started with haas/sauber too before being promoted to ferrari.
@AKStovall19 сағат бұрын
We will see that getting rid of Carlos will be Ferrari's latest big mistake. Lewis won't do as well as all the simps think he will. He'll be a midfield driver at best, and Ferrari will dump him for 2026.

It bothers me how little regard F1 teams have historically had for feeder categories. I love to see how this upcoming season seems to have changed that, bringing in so much young talent, even more taking into account how talented was the F2 grid this year, likely the greatest F2 season yet and with far better drivers than ever before imho (I know how talented were Russell, Albon, Norris, Leclerc, Piastri or Drugovich among many others who do also deserve to be mentioned were; I just dont think that, in general, they were necessarily drivers as mature as these guys have proven to be this last year and, most definitely, the driving standards and mean talent among the grid of the category have risen to points not previously seen). On the other hand, I don't believe the general public really understands where the talent is in this new batch, which I feel it has more to do with how F1 young drivers programs work. Lately F1 teams have not been inclined towards the best performing athletes in F2, but for the ones that had shone in earlier series enough to be recruited by their academies. This is the case of Bearman, Doohan and Antonelli (also Colapinto). This drivers have been part of their F1 teams for quite some time now, taking part in car development and beeing able to partake in some tests wich, obviously, improves their performance and sinergy behind the wheel of these cars. This also means that there is a bias towards their actual driving capabilities in detriment of others. So I will comment a bit on each one. Bear in mind, that even though I'll try to be as objective and unbiased as humanly possible, this will still be my personal take and you may not agree with me. Moreover so on some points that I believe are going to be very controversial. Without further ado: Jack Doohan: For me, this is the guy who has the most to prove. Jack has been an Alpine driver since 2022 (he used to be in the Red Bull academy before being dropped) and their reserve F1 driver for the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He has never really won anything despite being a good driver but nevertheless has some impressive results to back him up in two second place standings in both the F3 Asian championship (2019-20) and the FIA F3 championship (2021). More impressively he is the bronze medal of 2023's F2 championship, although he was never really a contender for the title, this was his third year in the category (wich is A LOT and made him one of the most veterans) and it was a pretty mid F2 grid in terms of talent. Despite of this, he beat F2 rookies bearman and hadjar who ended up in (very respectable for a first rodeo) 6th and 14th positions respectively (Bearmans team was the best a F2 driver could get, not so much for Hadjar). To be fair he managed these results in pretty good teams, wich DOES matter quite a lot. It is also not very surprising that he managed to get those seats given who his father is. Still, the guy is quick and merit shouldn't be taken away from him. Also he is quite in the spotlight since I believe has only been signed for the first 6 races of the season and Briatore is ruthless when it comes to pilot management, so don't get too attached with the Aussie. Oliver Bearman: If someones going to get angry at me, I almost know it'll be because of these next few lines. Ferrari driver since 22 , test driver for haas in 23 and 24 and Ferrari in 24, and reserve driver for both in 24. Oliver managed to win back to back championships of ADAC F4 anf Italian F4 in 2021. Also, in his rookie F2 season (2023), he got a really impressive P6 overall with the almighty Prema Racing Team. Unluckily for him, in 2024 F2 changed cars, and Prema didnt adapt well to the new regulations (at all), so he finished P12 overall. I´m perfectly aware that he missed four races (both feature and sprint races in both Jeddah, where he had managed to get the pole position, and Baku), and that the car didnt really come along in the earlier stages of the season, but this was just not a good year for him in F2(ironically for it likely was the best year of his life yet). It should be said that he still got three sprint race wins, in races where he wasnt the fastest driver but did a good managing job and/or was in the right place in the right time, wich is most definitely a big part of the sport, I dont want to take any merit away from him in this regard (moreover since he has been pretty unlucky this year in general in those aspects). He's got the experience, that's for sure. Now, I do have to say that I believe him to be a bit overrated through no fault of his own and I think there is an overhype with him that may lead to unrealistic expectations wich may cause the lad to crumble under pressure. He is VERY young, and he has made plenty of errors this season, most of the races not being able to pick up the pace that was expected of him (Im talking about F2) and finding himself involved in too many situations with other cars throught the season. But what I think that'll make this post controversial is what I'm about to write. It is no secret that in F1 there is an obvious bias towards british drivers and I'm not as sure as some people are of wether he is ready for the F1 jump. I don't know if anyone else had the same impression as me after the 2024 Jeddah GP but, even though he scored good points for Ferrari in Carlos' absence, I believe he was overpraised, specially by F1 owned media. Jeddah is a track were Ollie is good at, remember he had gotten the F2 pole before having to withdraw, so thats probably close to the best performance we were gonna get from him most tracks at his, at that time, current abilities. With this said he had a pretty bad start of the race and while it is true that he recovered, that Ferrari was a rocketship as Leclerc finished P3, scoring the fastest lap 14 seconds ahead of the first McLaren, only behind both RB wich, at the time, were quite ahead of everyone else. It should also be taken into account that he probably did only finish ahead of Norris and Hamilton because Magnussen woke up that day and chose violence, accumulating 20 seconds worth of penalties by also ruining Albon's and Tsunoda's races (who might also have put a fight against Oliver, this is of course pure speculation). After this Kevin became a mobile chicane to try and secure points for Haas in the other car by just defending (wich eventually worked as Hulkenberg finished P10), effectively slowing down Hamilton and Norris among others. This, added to the fact that both of the aforementioned drivers gambled for the wrong strategy, makes up for a good argument on how that Ferrari should have ended closer to back, in terms of pace. So he probably wouldn't have gotten in the points had he not gotten "lucky", moreover knowing that he did not make it into Q3 and that only 5 second separated him from Lewis behind Lando. Baku was a solid race wher he scored a point in a Haas but only beacuse of last lap drama between Checo and Carlos. And then Sao Paulo came, where he spun and spun and spun. Finished P12 only ahead of both Saubers and Fernando Alonso (cars that proved to not have the pace) and the 5 retired drivers. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid that he is not there yet , wether he will ever be and we all now how cruel the sport is. I still think he is or can be a great driver for any series, better than Doohan, but worst than the rest. To be continued
@TheJamonLanceКүн бұрын
I am only excited for bortoleto, that looks like a promising driver, able to manage a championship. The others? by mid season lawson will be depressed because of the massive beating from Ver, Doohan under the sword for being "just meh", Kimi crashing half the sessions, Bearman shadowed by Ocon, and Hadjar, yeah, maybe slightly beating Tsunoda. Problem for Bortoleto is the tractor is unlikely to let him show his speed, but if he matches Hulk thats serious.

As an F1 fan, I'm infuriated at the fact that you didn't say inchident when you had the opportunity. Very upsetting. I did subscribe, though. In hope you will correct the vocabulary in the next videos.

Yuki would’ve been promoted if he had watched the long-form content

I love how you cling onto alpine being french instead of blaming the English side when the only french thing left is the engine

Dude, great vid like your take on all - bit harsh on Mick Jnr tho! 1 suggestion, leave some time at the end of your vids for people to have time to like & subscribe - I had to reload to get it done!!

the data on Alpine looking at Colapinto is wrong now. nobody is looking at him because he basically equaled Logan's crash bill for the season, in 6 races. Red Bull and Alpine both quickly retraced their interest in him from vegas. Doohan's seat is very safe at this point. Colapinto is pretty much done in F1 until next year at the very earliest.

I think Red Bull have no insterest in promoting Yuki because he will inevitably replace Alonso at AMR when they move to Honda engines

To be honest with kimi vs bortoletto, its a rookie f3 and f2 champion vs a multiple rookie f4 regional champion hyped by toto, because his ego cant handle missing out on another good talent. Kimi needs to show a lot to live up to the hype, bortoletto is worth a lot more of a hype.
