I am glad that I have had the honour and pleasure to meet you, Emmet, in person ten years ago in Dublin. I hope we will meet again before I depart this world, so that I can hear you sing again. Amazing control, expression, perfect pitch and intonation. This young man has a glorious voice. Absolutely. I only read a few comments. But not one mentioned the accompanist. Sad, that, because he is totally brilliant. My mother told me when one accompanies a singer, one must capture the mood, support but N E V E R override the singer. The pianist is totally brilliant. Emmet's voice is brilliant and he deserves every compliment but the forgotten accompanist brings it up into the 'glorious' experience. Thank you, sir. I am sorry your name isn't listed. It should be.

Perfect pitch for sure...I have it and couldn't discern a single note out of tune. It's glorious when singer's have perfect pitch... I've heard some singers sound wonderful on recordings..they apparantly use auto tune, but they sound alarmingly bad in actual concert. This gentleman certainly has perfect pitch. Flawless performance.

Sharon the pianist is Seamus Brett. Emmet Cahill, the vocalist is a principle singer with the touring group Celtic Thunder. Seamus plays keyboards and is the assistant musical director for Celtic Thunder. Seamus is extremely gifted, as is Emmet. Emmet does have perfect pitch. Emmet also plays piano and violin. I just met him in Orlando, at a concert. He is not only gifted, but a perfect gentleman. He shared the scenario with a russian choir. At the end of the concert, my wife and I aporoached the russians, who rectulanly agreed to a selfie; but the leader was SO rude with me and my wife after that. In fact, they leave the placce immediately. But Cahill (honestly a much better artist) attended everyone; even his photographer took our Ipad to take some pictures of us. Cahill made some jokes and chatted with us. Great person!

@@Napp28 That is worrisome that Russian artists feel the need to be rude...gotta wonder about the political pressure on them back in Russia. Reminds me of the Cold War when you'd have to 'read between the lines' to understand what wasn't communicated or couldn't dare be communicated. A free people aren't rude to their fans for no reason.
@Napp283 жыл бұрын
@@ruthamos2312 Hey there, very good insight with your reply. You raised an awesome point about the Cold War and living under the Soviet Regime! Firstly, I laughed when I read the comment because, a "rude" Russian performer is almost a cliche' going back centuries! But, as to your point, you're probably very correct regarding what they feel they cant communicate. When visiting family of mine in Poland, it is astonishing that whenever I take a picture, my older relatives automatically stop smiling and frown. My own mother (Canadian) said "Wow they all look so grumpy and miserable!" ... to which I say how seconds earlier, they were laughing and smiling. The older generation were taught NEVER to have evidence of happiness!

Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side. The summer's gone, and all the roses falling, It's you, it's you must go and I must bide. But come ye back when summer's in the meadow, Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow, It's I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow, Oh, Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so! But when ye come, and all the flowers are dying, If I am dead, as dead I well may be, You'll come and find the place where I am lying, And kneel and say an Ave there for me. And I shall hear, though soft you tread above me, And all my grave will warmer, sweeter be, For you will bend and tell me that you love me, And I shall sleep in peace until you come to me!

I had always felt a tug towards Ireland in my heart. It was just a few years ago that we learned that my mother's paternal grandfather and great grandparents had immigrated from Ireland to the USA in the latter part of the 1800s. I've always loved this song.

I have a one hour commute to the hospital I practice at....no, not music practice but anesthesia 😷💉...that was my alternative to a career in music. My commute is music, music, music, NOW it is Emmet, Emmet, Emmet🎤🎼🎶🎹...You take me to another realm and my patients thank you for it!❤

I may never recover from hearing this beautiful man sing this incomparable song...one of the most beautiful in the world. My college special group sang this song and the men nearly all collapsed with emotion. This man, however, is beyond my words.

This is a performance of rare beauty. The piano playing is almost as important as the singing and should also receive credit.

Mr. Cahill, Thank you for talking time out of what must be a busy schedule to acknowledge my as well as others comments it is very thoughtful. Just a thought I'd like to share.The way you carry yourself and of course the way in which you generously share your talent with the world represents one of the most prescious gifts that humanity depends on as to remind ourselves and more importantly to guide our future generations as they look back at their ancestral accomplishments.You still have so much to offer and you've already done the greatest thing a person can aspire to do and that is to leave your mark on the world a mark that shows you contributed to the betterment of humanity therefore making the world a better place to live in. Good luck and Godspeed in all that you and yours desire Peace Always-cv

Emmet Cahill, you are quite the artist. Your voice is so beautiful. This performance of Danny Boy is loving and lovely, and the pianist who accompanied you is marvelous, as well.

This was so moving. Beautifully sung with warmth and sadness. It would have been good if the audience could let the last note hang in the air and dissipate. The accompanist played wonderfully too.

One of my best friends was Irish and a fairly recent immigrant to my country. He was a hard working man, his wife was lovely and very supportive, and their two kids were well manured and respectful. He had a beautiful voice and I forced him to sing this song at every chance. The ties to Ireland played upon them and they chose to return to their homeland. He got a job in security at the Belfast airport and was shortly afterward killed. This song used to be so pleasing and restful to me but now all I can feel is his death. Sad.
