Just seen the latest England WC squad- it's just so depressing to not see Cipriani's name in there. He's clearly the form 10 in Europe and as many others have written, he has an X factor that Ford and Farrell do not, and he has a unique ability to create priceless game-changing moments which you cannot coach. He's a maverick, a classic flair player. I get that Farrell has got the 10 shirt, but surely Cipriani would be an amazing option off the bench? Far more so than Ford. If you're the opposition playing against England and Ford trots on, you basically see a tackle bag. If Cips comes on you'll double the fuck down on your defence and be very wary of potential line breaks. That's the difference. Cips is a massive threat. Read some of the comments Southern Hemisphere fans write on forums and blogs- they all despise England, but categorically agree that Cipriani is the player they'd least like to face at the WC. I'll say this: if England don't win the WC this year, and a lot of it is due to bluntness in attack, questions will be asked.

Eddie has missed a trick I'm afraid. I would actually put England in the unplayable category if they got him firing in front of a full English pack going forward. Eddie never gave it a chance. Mako George Sink Itoje Kruis Wilson Currio Billy youngs Cips May Farrell Tuilagi watson daly. bench: Genge Cowan D Williams Lawes clifford care slade Nowell is a ridiculous team. Two playmakers in the backs, one for magic, the other for organisation and goal kicking.. and unreal strike runners. I imagine cips and Farrell to be a bit chalk and cheese but sometimes that works. People get along better in front of a nasty pack.

Austin Healey, who I’m not always a big fan of, summed it well at the end when said: “That is talent. The ability to read a phase beyond a phase”. I really do question how well Farrell and Ford can do that. They may consistent, but it’s that talent that maybe they lack. Plus, I feel like Ford coming off the bench is no different to Farrell playing, they give the same sort of input. I always question too, if Farrell gets injured (which is a perfectly possible scenario) can Ford really boss and lead the pack? Cipriani gives you that surprise element that teams will find difficult to defend against. Cipriani not only deserves a place in the training squad, he deserves a seat on the plane.

Love rugby however particularly in England for years players often don’t make it due to to Cliques and back ground (which private school you went too). The last 10 years has seen a massive change in this where we’ve seen players from comprehensive schools break through. However Danny Copriani still shows this form of selection Biased is still in... what’s the guy got to do to get selected ??? He went to Australia for crying out loud to get away from the negative press to get into the side... One of the most gifted 10s England has produced...

Cipriani went to Whitgift, which is a private school, and also the same school Jones’ favourite Eliot Daly went to. So your main point doesn’t really work. I agree I’d love to see him in the squad, but I guess his past behaviour has counted against him. I personally don’t think he’s done anything particularly bad, but that is the situation.

Look at other great modern fly half's. Carter, Barrett, Wilkinson, Sexton, They're all incredibly reliable at their job, Cipriani could lose you a game just as easily as he could win you one. Quade Cooper pass intercepted by Tommy Bowe in the 2011 world cup vs Ireland as an example.

Cips MUST go to Japan.. He brings so much variation and unpredictability to the game - the Southern hemisphere won't know what to do against him.. George Ford is a great player, but too similar to Owen F. Cips ABSOLUTELY MUST take priority over Ford. How can the Player of the Season not go.. ? He could win the World Cup for England.

There is one reason only that Cips probably won't be in the RWC squad.. Farrell doesn't get on with him and has far too much say in selection.. I've said on other channels, and taken flack from many, we can't win the WC without Cips. Even if its just coming off the bench in difficult games.. He can do things no other England 10 can dream about, and, Ford is a liability..

@@harv724 We can, but he has to select the squad based on form players, and not just those he considers to be good on their day.. Players like Hughes, Shields, Ford, Care and Te'o haven't played anywhere near as well as Cipriani, Dombrand, Kvesic, Big Joe C, Marchant, Spencer.. Alex Goode is the form 15, with the Daly at 15 experiment a failure, so Goode or Watson should be at FB.. Big Joe C is the form finisher who offers something different to all other wingers we have, Joe Marchant is playing as well as Joseph ever has in the past..

Think Farrell and Ford play a very similar style of game to each other, this may suit the way that Eddie Jones wants England to play but if a teams got you worked out you need the ability to bring on a player that brings something different to the field, and that's Cipriani. He has been great this year and I think the only reason hes not in the squad is Eddie doesn't want to back track on himself. Would love to see him get a chance at the World cup as England would turn into a more complete beast.

Maybe its cos of the Northern Hem. style rugby? but idk theres something 'eh' about it if you get what im saying. But maybe im being too harsh lol And off current form and over the course of this year, 100% Ritchie over Barret. Better goal kicking, tactical kicking and link up play. But when the all black Jersey is on, its a different game for Barret. I'd choose Ritchie and give him a chance but im sure Hansen will give it to Barret, he's done it before. What do you rate?

MrDub003 For the first time this season I’ve watched quite a bit of Super rugby (the NZ games are on Saturday mornings here) and I’ve not been that impressed. No one really bothers defending. Might as well watch 7s. Pretty sure Saracens or Leinster would walk over any Super team. You sound like you haven’t actually watched any NH rugby. See if you can find the premiership final from a few weeks ago - Exeter v Saracens and tell me it’s “eh”. Yeah from what I’ve seen of Mo’unga he looks a more complete player. Barrett is great when he gets an armchair ride from his forwards, but he seems to disappear bit when under pressure, whereas Mo’unga seems more assured. But yeah Hansen will probably go with BB.

I think he's overrated. Not because he isn't a quality player, or lacks skills and/or talent, but because he's a "superstar". By that I mean that for he's the kind of player that will absolutely star if the team he's in is built around him. A bit like Messi in football. He's in contention for my larger wold cup squad, but just doesn't fit in my back line because of that.

I’ve watched a fair bit of Super rugby this year, and Mo’unga is the only 10 who even comes close to Cipriani‘s form this year. Keep in mind he was playing for Wasps last year and was brilliant in that team, and replaced by supposed Kiwi star Sopoaga, who was absolute dogshit. And he moved to Gloucester and won players player and premiership player this year. How do you rate NZs squad this year compared to ‘15 or ‘11?
