Danny couldn't get to the beach today

We wanted to walk with Danny to the beach, after a lot of wet weather cancellations! But there were too many dogs, which is not a problem, except that when you get to the beach the dogs are off their lead. We encountered a very friendly dog walker on the walk down, his lovely dog on a lead. But as soon as we went through the gate with Danny, there were dogs running loose. I think we have to walk Danny to the beach very early in the morning. There is a video of us doing that once before and it worked really well.

😊 thank you! Danny was ok up until the gate, he knew that there were dogs running around beyond that point and did the sensible thing. He’s quite a smart boy, he knows that up to the gate the dogs are mostly on leads, and not so after. We’ll try an early morning walk next time we try the beach 😀🐈❤️

Danny is definitely very wise! The beach was not safe for a little ginger kitty while unleashed dogs were there! But, as always, watching Danny stroll & climb trees was wonderfully cheering! 🐈❤

Yes you are so right, Danny is a wise boy, he knew that it wasn’t a safe place (and we wouldn’t have taken him down under those circumstances). We are so glad that you enjoy Danny’s adventures. He never misses an opportunity to climb a tree 😂🐈❤️

Make sure you tell Danny, and tell him often. "Remember, Danny, CATS RULE. And not all dogs are bad. But you have the advantage with those murder mitts. Only use them if you have to, but they are there to kind of even the playing field. Kitties almost always have the advantage!"

Danny's color makes any woodsy or greenery setting he happens to be in that much more picturesque. I love how nicely he walks along the fence. I thought I even heard a slight "meow" from him. Sorry to hear those pesky dogs spoiled some of Danny's walk.

Danny does like walking along that fence, he’s very good at it! He gave a small meow when I lifted him down. We do that because we worry about his joints. They have taken a lot of punishment over years of climbing up and jumping down from things!

@@dannycatyoung Frodo doesn't go outside. Consequently, he doesn't have to deal with the heat.:). I lost an orange boy who was inside/outside (no supervision) many years ago. All my kitties after that stayed inside.

Yes Danny doesn’t say much, and you are right, he did protest a little when we lifted him down. We do that when we can to spare his joints the impact. He’s getting on and his little limbs have taken a pounding over the years. Actually, he did call out as he was walking towards the gate on the way down but not easy to hear on the video 😀🐈

I wonder if he sensed danger, perhaps from an off-leash dog, he would run to his human where he would either be picked up or jumped into the human's arms. Safe! One of the nice things about watching Danny and listening to him from time to time is the opportunity to apply a little fiction to what we see. Write our own story for Danny. I noticed that Danny doesn't have a (tracking) collar. Are you never concerned that he may get a sudden fright and run off and can't be found?

Danny has a chip but not a tracking collar. You are right, a collar would be sensible, but we know that Danny never goes far from us, even if chased by a dog. He will wait until it’s safe and join us again. He never wants to be far from us and lets us know if we walk too far away from him. It works well for us and we’ve been walking with Danny for about 8 years now 😀🐈👍

Thank you! it is a shame that the dogs stop Danny from venturing to he beach, but I guess that is something we have to accept, Danny gets it we think ☹️
