I made more than .46 cents a mile with my first job after getting my cdl. An experienced driver should be no less than .65 cents a mile. Sounds like a good place, just horrible pay

YES! I totally agree about having windows in sleeper berths. It's a necessity when my senior cat will be my copilot along with her litter box & I just can't go with a company if their trucks don't have windows! Kenworths are the absolute best!
@Solitaryman70 Жыл бұрын
So, the sleeper windows you mentioned, do they have screens in them to keep the bugs out? Customer’s??? Do you mean SHIPPERS AND RECEIVERS? Are they 24hrs with overnight truck Parking? Also, how can you say they’re a good company when you only been there 30 days??? All companies treat you good the first 6 months. Is that per/Diem voluntary?

I go to orientation on thursday! I was curious if the truck came with anything? Mini fridge and intake mainly? Is it something I should save up for and keep in mind? Thank you so much for making this video !
@billyjack5053 жыл бұрын
No fridge but I bought one from the TA and it fits good. I paid $100 I think. Keeps everything cold. The truck has an inverter with plugs, But the place for the fridge has the cigarette lighter plug. What’s the intake you’re asking about?

Is DHT worth retiring from? Starting my second career my wife and I want to team drive from a good company in the near future. Maybe be owner operators. Looking for a company where we’re not a number. And we can work the next 15 years or so god willing. See the nation together, makes some money, and be treated fairly.
@billyjack5053 жыл бұрын
I can honestly say you can make some decent money and see some country. I don’t believe they have too many owner operators and they only travel to certain states. The good ones. You’re kind of a number, but not really. Your dispatcher may make you feel like that sometimes (they have a lot going on) but they are always respectful. The in-house people are always awesome to communicate with. Hope that helps you sir.

I drove for Danny Herman 2018/2019 was the best company driver job because the average load is 1300 miles per load. The management do treat you right and driver services personnel call you periodically to make sure you’re doing well. One down side the safety people at DHT were calling me in for running stop signs 🛑 on client property when there’s obviously no chance for a collision additionally the computer will gig you for driving to close even when you’re in bumper to bumper traffic. Being counseled on these issues was upsetting for me I don’t have any and never had any moving violations or collisions on my record. Additionally when driving for a living I can and have been taking care of myself and the property that feeds me. I don’t like being second guessed I suppose that’s why I was able to leave. I went on to a job that put me in hotels every night and CPM are between 58-67 CPM.

I was at DHT for over a year and loved it. Only reason I left was to see what it would be like to be home on weekends. Spoiler alert: it’s not all it’s cracked up to be with only 34 to 48 hours at home. So now I’m coming back to DHT and super excited about it. Will be back in orientation at mountain city on Monday.
