Absolutely love this...my dad sang it to me when I was little and now sings it to my daughter when she's fussy. Definitely brings back a lot of wonderful memories. Gotta love Danny Kaye

God I love Danny Kaye and this song!! My Mum and Dad used to play it on their record player - you know the old ones made of wood that were a full size cabinet. Brings back such wonderful memories *sigh* THANK YOU :')

This song is an example of why the the diminished chord is the best chord in the universe. Listen to the chord on 'town' and 'sea'; the most 'poignant' (deeply affecting and touching) of the chords; its such a sublime chord that God only had to make three of them LOL (ask any guitarist; every 4th fret is the same chord in a different transposition and with a different name, but the same chord in effect)
