WHY DO I CALL MY FANS GREG?
Greg is the strongest family on the internet, we're the fastest growing channel on KZbin, and we make fire content. So, instead of making up some pun using my name and calling my fans that, I decided to use a different name entirely. A name so strong, haters tremble when it is spoken. WE ARE GREG. AND WE ARE TAKING OVER THE INTERNET. And all you have to do to join is hit subscribe and turn on notifications.

The bed thing kills me every time. Even our ape cousins use a ton of leaves and stuff to sleep comfortably. Our ancestors definitely figured out how to gather grass and make soft places to sleep. Animals with lower intelligence know how to nest and that the hard ground is shitty to lay on hahaha

The bed thing is so funny to me. Even animals build themselves comfortable nests and 'beds' to rest in. Why does he assume our prehistoric ancestors didn't?
@donovanb9020
@donovanb9020 2 жыл бұрын
Because his knowledge of "our ancestors" apparently amounts to what he saw from Flintstones cartoons. He also, conveniently, ignores the fact that there's a reason that cultures around the world have feasts/traditions that center around eating an animal, like Thanksgiving. It's because being able to eat a substantial amount of meat had always been a special occasion, during our hunter-gatherer phase as a species. The only real exceptions would be, maybe, peoples that had easy access to abundant fish/seafood.

I'm very curious if this man's kids have MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome). When you have MCAS your body is on constant high alert, and floods your body with mast cells/histamine (hello allergic reactions) at the most mundane triggers. If Liver King's kids really did/do have MCAS, antihistamines like the ones the docs prescribed would have helped, but reducing the histamine in his kids' diet could also have made a big difference. Funnily enough, freshly-caught meat is very low in histamine, as are various fresh plants (a lot of processed foods are high in histamine or the preservatives can trigger allergic reactions). If this isn't all some kind of elaborate bit, then this guy is certainly off his rocker...but he may have accidentally stumbled upon a viable treatment for his kids' illness 🤔(ASSUMING THE MEAT IS COOKED LMAO)

@allbymyshelf4125 2 жыл бұрын
The treatments he said doctors were proposing seem very much like normal allergy treatments though? You get that reccomendation if you're severely allergic to even one thing. I think it would be hard to distinguish between MCAS and just having a kid with like dairy, gluten, egg, and fish allergies that they're likely to grow out of, just given the information we have (people tend to exaggerate and enough of the 8 main allergies would sure seem like 'being allergic to everything'). It's an interesting thought in relation to MCAS and a possible, albeit weird and miserable, treatment though
@tiniestworm5612
@tiniestworm5612 2 жыл бұрын
I was just about to comment this myself. I have MCAS and to an extent the whole...low histamine diet recommendation does sound familiar in some ways. The thing I was most puzzled by was the Epi Pens he mentioned, but I know some really severe MCAS can cause anaphylaxis so that could be what those were prescribed for. The other allergy medicine does just seem like standard antihistamine, which is all I was prescribed so...ahh, who knows honestly 😅

It’s funny to think how very few “ancestral humans” looked anything like this guy considering his size and that food scarcity was probably the single greatest challenge to early man. For a sense of this, look at the physiques of those that live closer to those conditions like tribesmen in the Amazon or in Borneo. Perhaps the greatest giveaway that something close to obsessive is going on here are the “faraday cages” for phones: if those phones get a signal, well then those EMF’s are still there, fella.

@@mechadonia - No kidding? I’d seen some people who’d gone to live with these tribesmen in Indonesia, I think? They were extremely close to living exactly as their people always had and seemed to get most of their calories from cooking sago palm into a sort of tasteless mush, but this was their ways and they did everything possible to minimize how much work went into creating those calories. They weren’t fake hunting, they real hunted when it suited them, and no one was “lifting.” It showed just how delicately balanced these people’s lives were - if they had to work too much harder for their food, it would have stopped making metabolic sense to burn the calories to make the food. And yeah, to what you’re saying, I think one would have to go way, way back into our past as animals, not even humans, where they weren’t cooking their meats. Cooking was a singular change that let us advance, but this guy is just eating plates of raw meat and liver? That’s monkey stuff, not human stuff.

So firstly, the “ancestral lifestyle” didn’t include nearly as much meat as Liver King thinks it did, it was actually Neanderthals who ate a primarily meaty diet. Secondly, prehistoric people would be very physically strong, but wouldn’t appear as bulgy as Liver king. Not to mention, agriculture itself is an amazing testament to relationship between plants and humans! Wild corn looks completely different to your standard domesticated corn for example.
