Wow!..How did you know about this khanom khrok shop? This area is where I studied at art college when I was a teenager. If I remember correctly, this shop belongs to Aunt Noi. It is an ancient recipe for making Khanom Krok that is over a hundred years old and uses a charcoal fire. It is a shop that has been famous for a long time. If it were a general store, it would be in a modern style. There will be many toppings such as potatoes, taro, and corn. But here it is an ancient recipe and there will only be spring onions as the topping. This is traditional.😊

If you have ever seen another shop making Khanom Krok. You will see that they closed the large lid covering the entire stove. And will unwrap the snacks into one large sheet and then cut them apart one by one. But in the old days it was traditional from what you see at this shop. A small lid made of clay will be used to cover each one. And use a spoon to scoop out each dessert one by one. This is 100% original. This cooking method and recipe is hundreds of years old, passed down from generation to generation. This lady has been doing it for over 50 years.

When you're tasting. Auntie said "I intend to make it delicious". Because general stores will definitely make them one by one and pick the snacks out of the holes one by one for you. This shop has been featured on many TV shows and has people try their hand at picking snacks out of holes one by one. Not everyone can do it because it will be messy. It's very difficult. Authentic khanom krok won't make the outside too crispy and hard. It will be slightly charred like what you've eaten here. Inside will be lava. And this dessert must be eaten only while it is still hot to be the most delicious.
6:19 the lady said she put her heart into making Kanom Krok so you can taste its deliciousness.

Wow you found the old Thai style of " Khanom Krok" . The way Grand ma / Khun-Yaai (คุณยาย) made which is put one by one covered by earthenware lid and charcoal stove ,they will slowly heat from inside then equal , after heat properly ,she will pour mixed kra-ti (coconut milk+ palm sugar+a little bit salt) then wait for outer crispy and soft inside kanom-krok , so no need to put any toppings like another Kanom-krok modern style. Any food cooked by charcoal stove it will smell good from burned and well done . Hope to see you on the street in Thailand. Enjoy your trip❤ P.S. KHUN YAAI said to you that " I payed attention to made kamom-krok for you" (ตั้งใจทำให้ทานให้อร่อยค่ะ) and you were the first one client that morning.

I am such a huge fan of coconut ice cream 🍦 😋. Can't wait to eat when we get to Bangkok. See you in August!

I saw many tourists eat a pair of Knomkrok together. And cream burst in mouth, it's hot!! You should seperate it before. then it's easy to eat 👍😁
You got the good selection of the toppings for the coconut ice cream. The red topping you didn’t know called “ Thaptim krob (Thaptim means ruby in thai, krob means crunchy) It is made of cubes of water chestnuts soaked in red grenadine, then covered with tapioca flour and boiled in syrup. And the other one, the green topping called Sago or tapioca pearls. Cheers. Keeping up with your vlogging.

The original Kanom Buerng in salty flavour the stuff originally used real dried shrimps but nowadays its used shredded coconut instead. And the sugar that coated underneath is transparent not white fluffy sugar that used in the present.
I delighted to see you’re both enjoying to eating a lot of food in Thailand. 🇹🇭 this is the first time I just viewing your channel and decided to subscriber immediately, and Diggy you so beautiful.❤

Cheers, thanks for watching guys! Don't worry Diggy's name always gets mixed up we've had dicky or doggy lol 😆 you guys are living in bkk or just visiting? 😊
The pink is Tub Tim, which translates to red ruby, I think. It's water chestunuts, and they coat it in tapioca starch. The tapioca starch is dyed with a touch of red food colour. When they boil it, the starch takes on a gelatinous texture. I love it a lot! And the green stuff is sago. In england, it's the main gelatinous ingredient in Tapioca pudding.

Are the pink ones water chestnuts??You are right though the coconut ice cream is the best 😀👍
Kanom Krok is also my favourite Thai dessert. Traditionally, there is only one topping, which is spring onion. The pink dessert is called "Tubtim" in Thai. Its direct translation is "Ruby". It is made from diced water chestnut.

"kanom beung" the thai crispy pancakes when pronouncing the name of the kanom perhaps add an ending sound "beuNG" to it's name without the ending sound of it's name would give this dessert a totally meaning "boring dessert" hope you don't mind that i pointed it out i really love to see you guys speaking thai ❤❤ sound nah rak ka
