Ponytown is a great game thats free and easily accessible! With its success, there comes the risk of rip offs or downright stealing of the game. Today I want to share with you 2 apps that are taking ponytown and some custom servers and using them for profit without permission. These apps are admitting to taking your personal information and pump out ads overtop what is otherwise a peaceful and calming game.

ponytown should update their main page to add a warning about this.... "warning! ponytown is a web browser game and is not involve the google play stores or any downloadable apps, h, if you have installed a mobile app, please delete it and connect to our server through your web browser." just for people who don't really bother to look, like for example right below the rules and in the about page and help page. speaking of rules I AM DYING TO SEE THEM PLEASE have actual rules and consequences against rude/toxic people who always start drama. I've seen a few people just leave pt and it's mostly because of that and especially after riots at spawn, and pt does nothing about it. they're going to keep losing supporters and players and they only get money from donations apparently!

Ponytown is very obviously a web browser game. They shouldn't have to say it anywhere. But I think they should have publicly addressed these 2 apps on reddit or something similar to the dergun town situation. Because it feels similar in a way. Obviously not the same but its something that gets worse the more people are unaware of it. As for the rest of your comment. Ponytown does take care of things like that but they obviously aren't going to be able to deal with every case. Plus someone spreading drama is not that bad in the grand scheme of things. I mean not many people are gonna care about meaningless drama anyway. Its better to handle and focus on bigger things like doxing or threats, racism, etc vs someone arguing about some random trivial thing

I used to use that first version of pony town with the ads and the adding servers. I had to switch to the real version after being unable to update my game and it locking me out lmao

Its alright. But yes ponytown and the custom servers all work in your browser on your phone, tablet, pc, Xbox, and even quest 2

I've tried the knock off that said Pony Town Custom Server before and it was laggy sometimes. It was on Google play. I was curious and deleted it afterwards. That one was the first one that showed up when you search pony town. Those fake ones no longer exist on the Google Play Store when you search for it. The official game shows up at the top. Also if you want to report a fake or scam app ripping off another you can click the 3 dots on top of each other in the right top corner after clicking on the app to see a report button to report them. Also leaving bad reviews show others that it's a fake, scam, or something to others who may not know.

Log into PT on the browser, and then above it will say "add to home screen," click that, and it will be technically "downloaded" onto your device.

You don't need to worry about signing in to the Pony Town servers in the fake Pony Town apps, because the publishers use a tool called "Web browser" or something which is used in developer platforms such as MIT App Inventor, Visual Studio, and other platforms. Which is why you spawn at the same place when you enter a server and the game works so well. Anyone who knows ZERO about app developing could make this in 10 minutes or so could make something like this for free (but they can't publish it for free and make money) For the record, if anyone installs any app and starts to experience unusual acts such as having their personal info stolen when the publisher tells them in the description or in the app then that is on the installers and if they try to sue the publisher then they wont succeed because the installers are the ones to blame for installing the app in the first place.
