He has it set to some shortcut i don't know but you can find the same functions in subtool>extract in the tools palette on the right side. Hope that helps

5:57 Danny forgot to show how you mask the eyeball and the eyelids separately after you merged them together. You cannot split masked point if parts of the object haven't been masked. What you can do is taking your MaskPen and draw your mask, it will only draw on the eyeball Now you can use Split Masked Points and continue the tutorial :)

Hi Danny, Thanks so much for your videos. One quick one..pls could you hint me on how you rearranged you Zbrush interface to be this cool. I find it so tedious trying to change brushes because I would need to dig into the brush dialog box everytime. I would like to have my favourite brushes and tools easy to be accessed. Thanks

loving this tutorial, but I ran into an issue when i merged down the eye lids too the eye ball, all though they are all one asset, when i move them they move as separate objects like the eye ball is moving but not the eye lids. and I tried centering the pivot point but it just changes the camera angle and dosen't move it too the center, I'm think it might be because I'm running ZBrush 4R6 not 100% sure though.

Anyways, you can mask the eyeball meanwhile you use the polygroup selection. Then go to Subtool - Split - Split Masked Points or Unmasked. Either way, they're going to be separated.

Hey Danny, thanks for creating this tutorial series, it's great! Quick question, I keep running into this problem around the 2:00 mark of this video. Whenever I click the white circle at the end of the transpose line, the canvas rotates to align with the transpose line; it's not aligning the transpose line pivot point with the center of the object. I'm using 4r6, and I've been scouring Google, but I haven't found a solution for this. I even closed Zbrush and started a new project, but the same problem occurs. Are there any Transform settings that I need to mess around with? Thanks for the help, and keep up the good work!

I don't think there is a shortcut key but you can make one for it by pressing ctrl+alt and click on ghost and transparency buttons. They are the bottom right of the screen. Then make a key command ctr+t for transp and ctrl+g for ghost. This is what I did.

I know it is 4 monts later but: On the Transform bar: Press Transp to activate Transperancy between SubTools. When activated, your currently selected SubTool will be visible through all other SubTools. To adjust the transperancy settings go to Preferences: Draw. Use the Active Opacity slider to increase or decrease the transperancy of the selected SubTool. Use the Inactive Opacity slider to adjust the transperancy of all other inactivate SubTools. docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/transform/ :)

4:11 is when he shows where that option resides. Don't know if you were paying attention. "Mask by polygroups" is basically the same option as automask polygroup which he has as a button on his UI. Anyway this method just involves unnecessary steps. Just use the "Move Topology" brush in your brushes which does the same thing by default..with this brush if you hover over a polygroup and then click and try to move it, it will only move that particular polygroup without disturbing other polygroups around it.
