It’ll usually help the focus if you hold your hand flat behind the card so the camera isn’t searching the background for focus and really only “sees” the card because your hand is now the background. Another great video, thank you for the honest and COMPLETE information yet again. You explain all of the relevant details that most usually just glaze over briefly if they talk about them at all. Appreciate all the videos, keep em coming!

Thank you for saying this! I did my first 62 card, penny-a-card sale before watching this just to get rep on TCG player. It was not worth it. I ended up making an Excel sheet and finding my cost to sell different volumes of cards in one transaction. The takeaway I got from this exercise was that the lowest I can sell a card for is 36 cents, because if a buyer only wants 9 or 10 cards, then I only make one penny on that transaction after my cost of shipping materials and postage is accounted for. At 25 cents, I'm only profitable if I selling 1, 2, or more than 15 cards at once.

Danny, Im so glad you have all this info out. I just started selling on TCG Player because of you but I was getting a little worried and wondered if selling at the "lowest" price like many others do would be worth my time. I cant thank you enough for the goldmine of info you have provided and continue to provide. I wish you nothing but the best in your business. I've been grinding a ton of hours trying to get my personal 5K bulk lot I've built over the last couple of years organized to try and sell to hopefully one day get enough capital to start my own brick and mortar store.

It can rangeIt honestly depends on your knowledge and experience. Experience is the key factor and then comes application of knowledge which makes you more effective saving time allowing you to do more. The best way to know I’d say would be to track your hours/ the orders you make that go out. That being said when you start it will be pretty as for how much you make since you’re learning the process. Shipping is where you can get into a bind. Thinking about is only a motion take action and you’ll know if it’s worth it for you

Ok I love these videos, but this one specifically, here's my question: Sure, list every one of them for .25c But what if they buy 4 of them? That's $1, I'm only level 2 seller so my shipping is .99c which puts the card at $1.24 then TCG takes 13% of every order so that's $1.08, Stamps to send = .70c Then sleeves, envelopes, gas driving to the post office. You're really only making .10c a card? and what if they only buy one or two from you. Then you are losing money rather than making because not every sale is going to be 4 or more

Very true! Luckily, tcgplayer adds on .78 for shipping to customers who spend under $5. So if they were only buying 1 card at .25, their ax Tj al total would be $1.03. That’s a very good point!

Yes shipping cards is normally the big problem. If it’s a single card and not an expensive card send it with a stamp in an envelope.(cheapest way) If it’s multiple cards and/or an expensive card send it in a bubble mailer as a package as it comes with tracking

So, I'm wondering. Paypal processing fees are $0.30 + 2.9% per transaction, so how are you to make anything pricing a card at only a quarter? TCGplayer might not use Paypal, but I am sure ebay does.
@DannyPhantump4 жыл бұрын
The .25 is specific to tcgplayer. People are allowed to checkout on tcgplayer using paypal, but tcgplayer covers that in the 13% fee they charge you. So really the only charge you accrue at .25 is the 13% tcgplayer fee. There is also an automatic .78 fee for shipping when the order is under $5
@BeanBoneOfficial4 жыл бұрын
@@DannyPhantump Oh, that makes sense. Thanks!
@KrakenPacksOFFICIAL3 жыл бұрын
@@DannyPhantump Hi Danny. Thanks for the great content. What is the source on TCGplayer covering credit card/paypal fees? According to the TCGPlayer official fee calculation page, they do not cover paypal/credit card fees, which is 30c + 2.5% on top of 10.25% tcgplayer fee. This additional 30c+2.5 should be taken out not on the order page, but when you are receiving a "payout". Am I missing something here? Hoping I am incorrect. But if not, you might want to adjust this video :)

I dont understand how you make money selling for .25c a card. If someone buys a playset at .25c each= $1. Tax is around 10-20% - postage is .55c= around .30c profit. If you sell an item for less than a dollar you are at a loss.
