brandy melville also only hires women of a certain height and weight, and at least for the one store I’ve been in in San Diego, they only hire blonde white girls at that. They’re also supposed to make comments about you if they think you won’t fit in their clothes 🙃 (I can’t actually fit most of their clothes, my sister however can and does)

The only brandy Melville shirt I own is from goodwill because I would NEVER support that place by giving them my money! I was anorexic at the time and even then I still knew what they were doing was wrong and didn’t want to hand my money over to them or support them as a business. Honestly all the brendy melvilles I ever entered had HUGE entrances. The one in Amsterdam has a very large door, the one in turin is basically a very large tunnel entrance, and the one in Milan has again a very large double door. So not exactly sure where the door thing came from. Also i'm sorry to say, but i have literally been forced to purchase from them many many times, as other stores simply do not have my size. Sometimes the xs in zara doesn't fit cause it's not made for my body type. I'm not even THAT skinny, i'm just short and fit, and most brands only have three sizes and they are all too big. As far as they could do better with the negativity and being so selective, i'm glad that they are there cause otherwise i'd sometimes have real trouble finding a shirt that fits.

I've been to the store before. I already knew that they only make clothes for skinner people but that's why i went (i couldn't find pants that fit my waist). Went there, got looked up and down, and an employee fucking laughed at me. I wanted to cry cause I'm not a very confident person (working on that) but i decided not to and i just smiled at her. She wasn't very happy with that. She even came up to me before while looking at shirts and told me "i don't think we have your size" with a grin. When i told her that i had already tried something on and it fit, she was LIVID. And the cashier was rude a as all hell too 😒 Safe to say I'm never going there again 😊

i’m sorry this happened to you :( Unfortunately I think that this was an employee problem and not a business problem. I’ve had good experiences each time i’ve been to the brandy in my town. Still doesn’t make that acceptable though!

Sweetie, you can find something that's not as boring and repetitive as brandy. All of the clothes look the same be glad you didnt spend your hard earned money to look basic. Ive looked at the website and all it is white basic shirts and pants🥴🥴 you can find at gap or old navy and do better its not even like they making one of a kinds to be so EXCLUSIVE its mass produced find somewhere that actually wants u as a customer

@@Qdelilah I found a pair of low wasted, flare cut, grey ish black washed jeans with a stripey texture. They are by far my favorite jeans and i haven’t been able to find a replica anywhere else. Along with a really pretty white maxi skirt and a whole bunch of cute tank tops and shorts with different kinds of lace and bows. Could i probably find a singular top that looks similar for the same price at old navy? Probably. But, brandy is an easy access small store that advertises their clothing well in my eyes. And the outfits only become basic when you yourself are basic and/or don’t accessorize right. So…😬

@@Qdelilah also. Isn’t it a bit hypocritical to tell me to go shop at old navy or gap when they themselves are also mass produced companies that have no other goal than to take the money of a specifically targeted customer and it wouldn’t make much of a difference whether i choose to spend my money there or at brandy?

@@Qdelilah Well I like layering clothes depending on the day and i was mainly just there for home clothes. I don't really care if I look basic but imma say that I don't seeing as I get glares and side eyes for not dressing like everyone else my age (meaning leggings and a dang crop top 24/7) but oh well 🤷

"fat ppl" bro i went there at 130 pounds and was told they dont have anything in my size. My friend weighed a lil under 99 pounds and the girls at the counter gave her a discount cuz she looked like a model. Like they proudly promote anorexia like it's nothing and even reward girls for it. The clothes are cute so its really frustrating that their version of "fat" is the healthest weight according to doctors and dietitians.

This is proof that people choose stores based on their reputation, good or bad, not their merchandise. All of the clothing items shown were either ugly, basic or something you could find at Walmart, Target, a thrift store and literally anywhere else “Exclusive”. The store should be renamed “How to con young girls into spending to much money on polyester dresses, tank tops and oversized hoodies that make you look like you’ve lost your lust for life.”

I don't even think it's about reputation. It seems more like validating eating disorders for girls with EDs...which is predatory.
