Hey Danny I’m 62 this December and used to collect these cars as a kid. You have made them so much better and I would love to try my hand it converting them into a true work of art as you do. Keep up the great work your new fan Mike !!

Awesome video. As a Canadian, I can appreciate the irony of using salt to create the rust effects. Road salt is the number one cause of metal cancer after all. The only thing I would worry about if this were a real vehicle is just how close those expensive tires are to the exhaust. lol

Great VW Danny, the rust effect is top notch. I live in the State of Indiana on the Northern border about a hundred miles from Chicago. I tell you this because where I live RUST is our State symbol. LOL. In the winter they spread salt (Cacium Chloride) on the streets to melt the ice. It works but it also destroys everything else it contacts, vehicles, concrete and the environment. So again, great job on the rust.

This is awesome. I love how easy the salt method is. Not to say the chipping medium is especially hard, but this looks so easy and give a result that is as good if not better and uses stuff that you've probably got lying around the house.

It would be awesome if you could make a War Boy car carrier, like for example a NASCAR transport truck and trailer that was found by the War Boys or a traditional semi truck with car transport trailer that the War Boys are using to either collect rare cars from unfortunate Wastelanders or to transport damaged attack cars and pursuit vehicles back to their base for repairs. P.S it would be cool if the trailer would be outfitted/decorated with car parts.

Don't the old-style bugs like that have the engine in the TRUNK (boot) not under the hood (bonnet)? Why did you choose to put it in the front? Wouldn't that require a LOT of retrofitting?

Yes you can find some images of ratted beetles with front engines 👍

I love your videos man! :D I'm not sure if you mentioned this, but how exactly do you create your rust washes? I am So close to finishing my first Gaslands car ever and I would love to you how you created the washes!
@DannysDiecastDisasters4 жыл бұрын
I think I was using Vallejo rust washes. Don't use washes much these days i tend more towards powders and just applying paint. You can make good washes with just water and paint, if you want to have a more commercial type wash add a tiny amount of flow enhancer 👍
@grahamparr47105 жыл бұрын
I think this salt method is better than the cracking medium.
