Indeed was the next day. I saw that you had a different blue St. John’s Bay polo shirt…Uncle Steve is correct. A lot of places no longer make wontons. Small restaurants used to wrap wontons on their unoccupied tables. You don’t see that anymore. When I asked a restaurant, they told me who their supplier was. Also gone from menus today is a Hong Kong sui gow (dumpling) with wood ear mushroom. I found them recently in New York. I can’t find them in Southern California.

I’ll order the wonton noodle soup the next time I eat there. My mom loves Grand Lux’s breakfast buffet. It’s convenient since we stay at the Venetian. I think the buffet is okay, I can do without it. I’m just not big on breakfast. Also I heard Grand Lux is owned by Cheesecake Factory. The food is pretty good if you order off the menu. Great ambiance!

Agreed, that breakfast buffet looks like a hotel buffet. Great when you’re ready to eat and run, but not for DTM Food & Travel content.

The menu prices are pricey but I'd bet the food there is awesome, based on the crowds. Your Hong Kong Wonton Noodle dish looked so delicious. I would finish that dish in 23.6 seconds, soup and all. I think you should pass on that $29.99 buffet. It should be half the price.

If you’re staying at the Venetian or Palazzo and you don’t want to pay Uber or Lift back and forth to their Chinatown, this is a nice convenient place to get pretty good Chinese food. Although everywhere the prices have gone up, you’re saving by not having to travel. Plenty of families and young people are more than willing to stand in line. The food comes pretty quickly. That’s how they can serve so many customers. We love Noodle Asia. If you can’t afford it, just go elsewhere.

yea I went here, I grew up on chicken and broccoli in brown sauce NYC style. The one I had here was ok, chicken was right but the sauce was missing something that all NYC/NJ places have. Wife had their orange chicken and it was more heavy on vinegar and less crispy then pandas. Good service and fast food.

script the Grand Lux. We have been going to Noodles Asia for a long time. It used to be that you could look out over the sports bar. It now looks like they have blocked the view. Like everything else, the prices have gone up, we use to get the Won Ton Noodle soup for around $12.

Danny I worked at the Grand Lux for 7 years. The orange juice alone is $8 a glass so for the buffet it’s worth it. It’s fresh squeezed juice.

The wonton noodle soup looks ok for $20, but no way is that buffet worth $30. I wonder if they do a lot of comps for the buffet? That is the only price I would pay for that.

Hi Danny, I think you can get a better and nicer breakfast at Grand Lux for under $30. Other than the fresh omelette station it looked, meh. I don’t know if you’re aware, Grand Lux is a Cheesecake Factory restaurant. So any cheesecake will be awesome. I remember something I especially enjoyed there. I’ve stayed at Palazzo and Venetian over the years. They had a BBQ on a long bun sandwich that I thought was outstanding. It was years ago so things may have changed but I’d’ get it often when I’m went there. Been to Noodle Asia countless times also. The menu has expanded a lot since my visits. It looks great and top quality. Like I remembered. Will that diamond card get you a substantial discount to the food w/Military (thank you for your service!) discount? Maybe it’s worth it with a big enough discount to see if the food is better than it looked. Otherwise stick to the menu and get something fresh made. Joe

Grand Lux is owned by the Cheesecake Factory. It’s the safe go to place for my family meals there when visiting. So if you’ve eaten at Cheesecake Factory, then you know what to expect at Grand Lux. Price and food concepts are same

The buffet is a step up from the normal Hampton Inn or Fairfield Inn because of the omelet station. I'd eat there if I was a hotel guest just for the convenience. But not worth a review.
