The irony that I got into A7X through Live in the LBC 🤣 I fully get what he was saying about live albums though

Every song in Live in the LBC is objectively better than the studio versions. Incredible live performance. M. Shadows vocal runs on specific parts of songs added that much more to them.

Synyster Gates enters his "Liberace" phase. I almost expected to see a feather boa and a piano ring to finish the look.

Amazing that we, as fans, get to benefit from his perfect storm of musical upbringing. Also, the mom voice in my head really wants to comment on how he seems like such a sweet person who has quite the potty mouth. 😝

I love live shit, LOVE LOVE live shit! However I get the led zeppelin thing specifically because Jimmy page had this habit of veering off into his own little pocket dimension where he would extend the solo 10+ minutes past the expiration date, as well as playing something that literally DID NOT go with or match the feeling of the song they were playing lol...sometimes it was awesome n he blew our minds, and others he would go on n on n on to where we would think "WTF is he doing!?!?".. it also did get to the point where the improvisations no matter how complex or intricate simply DID NOT go with the "flow" of the song n took away from it rather than adding to it??..my biggest issue would be a the "stariway" solo, the way it was written was short, sweet n PERFECT and fit that breakdown so well..if Jimmy played all of the solo and improvised 5 secs or so it would be fine, however that's just not what he did lol...he played something completely diffrent, something that was way too convoluted and the worst part is what he played made the audience wish "man...I wish he played it right" rather than "THAT NEW SHIT WAS AWESOME!"... there were songs on there setlist that invited that kind of improvisation like a Moby dick and even a song like dazed and confused invited crazy improve as long as they went into that proper jon Bonham triplet breakdown at the end of the solo... a song like stairway had a simple short n sweet solo that DOES NOT invite improvisation in the same way, yet that's the song he would go into a tangent, 15 minute improvisation diatribe on lol.. I love Jimmy page and consider him top 3 all time btw so it's not hate, I just understand that as a guy who loves live performances that the zeppelin example of "I wish they sounded more like the album" makes sense!!...then again most those British late 60s into the 70s bands LOVED live improvisation...Keith moon never played the same fills or solos, or breakdowns twice or the same way EVER! live...so I get that it was a thing everyone did in that era, zeppelin just did "too much" sometimes Jimmy specifically, jon Bonham was always on point and I think it's minblowing how Bonham knew Jimmy well enough n vice versa, that they were able to follow eachothers wild diatribes without fucking anything up...I kno everyone follows the drummer, but in zep it seemed like Jimmy made that impossible n and jon would be forced into following Jimmy on his wild little "trips" lol.
