This product is still available in market. They are still selling switches in 2 color (White and Black). No new colors came in market. Do iotty app works with iOS phone? How about durability goes for wall plate tempered glass, because I have small kids.

Why do you have to enter sunrise/ sunset? That info is easily available on the web and is GPS coded.

Where is that proximity sensor and customized color you speak of? I just installed a 3 gang and there is no option to do those features. I'm going to return it because without those features this us no different from the Chinese version for $18. Not worth $128 for a regular wifi switch.

Danny, if I have the light switches to turn off after my phone disconnects from wifi and there are other members of my family at home, will they wind up in the dark? Lol. I find that some of the smart features are aimed at individuals and not families. I'm starting to get into home automation and have the ecobee3 t-stat, some TP-Link switches, and TP-link and Belkin remote outlets that in using with Alexa (I have 3 dots). I have not seen anything so far that figures for having a spouse, kids, and some animals. Am I missing some tech out there that is reasonably priced that is "family" aware and friendly?

Danny Winget - Thanks for the reply. I understood that only the lights associated with single switch are controlled, however I thought that since several switches can be monitored and controlled through the app and that if my phone was out of wifi range (like if I left the house) the app will turn off all switches and those lights if I chose that option. So if someone else was still at home they would see all the lights on those switches go off, correct? I'm not trying to be facetious, just trying to understand the concept of the feature and possible limitations.

Question: I have a few family members that are loving the smart home idea. They know not to turn the light switch off so the smart bulbs are not turned off. What I want to do is install a smart switch that does not cut the power but replaces the switch on the wall. If I did this, people will not turn off the light. It will simply send a message to the light bulb to turn off. I cannot change everyone in my house. So is there a switch that can do this? I really want to do this so people who are old school can turn lights on and off without turning the bulb off. At the same time, it is smart all the way around. I read a lot of forums and they all say to use one of the other. Well, I want to use both but need some guidance on what I can do since not everyone in my household fully adapts the smart home idea.

Anthony Gurrieri It works with any existing lights but in my opinion that’d be redundant. You have the same controls between smart lights or normal lights on a smart switch - combining the two doesn’t make them any more powerful. Save your smart switch to work with existing normal lights and use your hue bulbs for light sockets on normal switches.

How difficult was it to install onto the wall?

It was not difficult. The final unit will be a little different but it attaches to that metal plate. Took me about 5 min to install.
