quick tip on dyeing the interior, I did this to my F32 seats. It takes a lot of coats, i did like 9 coats on the seats even though while painting they look like a mess, after about an hour or two the color settles in and it looks great. Just need to put a lot of coats to do it properly!

Merry Christmas, bro! I love watching how your project is developing and turning out! Until a few months ago, I was working in the car upholstery business, and part of the job involved painting leather interiors for some cars. It’s important to know that certain types of leather just don’t hold paint, no matter how they’re prepped beforehand. We once painted white seats from a BMW X4, and I have to admit, it was a nightmare. The paint kept cracking and peeling even before it had fully dried. The best method for prepping seats for painting is as follows: First, sand the leather with a Scotch-Brite pad to give it a matte finish. Then blow it clean using an air compressor and air gun. After that, wipe it thoroughly with alcohol. Finally, the best way to apply the paint is again with an air compressor and a spray gun designed for leather paint. Once painted, dry the seats with a heat gun and spray 2-3 coats of clear leather varnish over them. Honestly, it was such a frustrating process that I stopped doing it altogether. 😄 This isn’t criticism; I’m just sharing my experience with transforming seats in this way. 😄 Greetings from Bulgaria! I have watched a few vids on dying seats and i think youre supposed to first remove the leathers protective layer and then sand it down a little so the dye sticks. Also i think ive heard that if you paint it without the previous steps the dye just wont last long and can come off onto clothes, but not to sure

hey man love the outcome and overall build. but when you did the leather dye you were laying it on too thick, its not so much painting as it is staining, that's why it wasn't sticking towards the end. i ran into the same problem at first. I did about 10 coats of red dye on black leather. if you want to try to fix the parts you've done I would recommend laying down a slightly thick coat in the areas it isn't sticking and let it sit overnight. worked well for me. would love to see you try it again!

Hey Danny I think why the paint didn’t stick to the seats is because u didn’t use acetone. I think it was to solid of a color being black that the bright paint couldn’t stick as much. Try whipping them down with acetone then redoing them then you can make some extra money!

I have two older BMW's and I can't tell you how much FUN they are to drive. Yes I had to do a lot of work on the one car to get it to the 700 HP it's at now BUT I LOVE DRIVING IT! So much power and it's just so cool to have a daily driver that you can wipe most people off the map with! FUN! That one is my 335XI N54 with upgraded twin 17T's and everything else and tune by JSRTuning! The other one is my 6 Speed Manual E46 M3 or should I say it's NOW an M3. It was at one time (Many years ago) an 330CI E46 but then due to a crash damaged 2006 E46 M3 Competition It's now a M3! Inside and out! It's my Drift King Machine!! YEA BABY! The BEST of Both Worlds! On a VERY tight Budget. Plus I had to do All the work myself! Well. Most of it lol.

Someone will get a great interior for free through him. Awesome! All you need to do to make those pieces look perfect is do exactly what he did but Start by Sanding the leather as the dye bottle or instructions say you must. Then dye it again. It will turn out incredible! (RED of course not some other color lol).
