At the world pokemon championship, a huge move update was announced. This includes nerfing super strong moves like wing attack, counter, and steel wing. It also reduces the switch clock from 60 to 50 seconds.

The sims don't tell you that you can Wild Charge and bail, and with the 50s timer the self-debuff moves have become a little better.

To provide a different take: In Ultra League, Kanto Rapidash with Wild Charge performs better than Shadow Typhlosion in all scenarios but the even two shields. Including the cases with shield advantage (the main role of Shadow Typhlosion). So there might be an argument that in Ultra league Kanto Rapidash is a slightly improved Shadow Typhlosion.

Nice! I caught some Shiny Ponyta and Shiny Galarian Ponyta but I didn’t get a better ranked Galarian Rapidash for Psychic Cup than I already have (ranked around 500). Just a few minutes past 5 PM I caught a Paldean Wooper with IV: 0/10/15 that I powered up, evolved to Clodsire and gave a new charged attack (it now has two charged attacks). The issue with Kanto Rapidash is that it takes 15 turns to launch its first move, but unlike Talonflame, Rapidash has considerably worse typing _and_ bulk to afford being that slow, on top of Talon not only having better snowball potential, but even a better nuke to throw. Galarian Rapidash's issue is that Wild Charge is unlikely to provide value over the other coverage in the limited metas it can see play in (High Horsepower can still let GDash threaten a shield/KO from Galarian Slowbro or Victini switch-ins, for example). I think the best immediate use for Wild Charge GDash is to lead off with it in the Psychic Cup to be able to quickly throw it out vs a switch-in and dip.

Galar rapidash is the only poke that learns a bug charge move for Psychic cup. Maybe one of the only real counter to mala next rotation

Honestly biggest thing for it is the increased stardust for new pvpers lol, its so prohibitively expensive to build new mons.

Some interesting analysis! I'll hopefully get out for a while for the stardust. Already have a shiny galarian, but this'll be my first kanto shiny ponyta so that's good too. Fingers crossed I get a couple with good PvP IVs just in case moves get tweaked for the better for them and the meta shifts for them to be more usable.
