Okay, I just went on it for the first time yesterday and just... blew my mind. I was awestruck the entire time. And that's despite not going in fully blind. I'm really glad this is my home park.

The fact that Disney and Universal showed clear interest in the ride tells you how good it is. (Yes, Efteling slipped they have visited Dance Macabre.)

I could see Disney looking to have their own version of the ride themed to Fantasia.

I thought it looked pretty cool! Someone should come up with a ride something close to this one in the States!

Wow maybe I should visit Efteling soon. It's basically around the corner for me. I knew about Spookslot haunted castle being closed but never knew about the replacement.

I loved the ride. The way the whole room comes alive is incredible. Very awesome tech, Efteling did a wonderful job! -Scott

Looks very entertaining, too bad the camera didn't pick up all the details. I would imagine the queue must stretch to infinity given the low throughput.

It actually has a capacity of 1250 per hour. It comes quite close to this in practice too with a very efficient loading procedure. It has 108 seats that get filled every ride (it has a single rider)
@MoultrieGeekАй бұрын
@@NathanHydra Thanks for the clarification, that's a FAR higher capacity than I originally thought. I would love to see a ride of this advanced design here in the states.
@tedioustotoro4885Ай бұрын
@@MoultrieGeekyeah, per ride there’s six seating sections, each fitting ten or so people in so a lot of people are on at once.

Funny you say that because at 2.33 the video shows a very well hidden animatronic: the lady crawling out of her coffin. It can only be seen from a few spots or angles so it’s amazing this video captured it

So it's a tilt-a-whirl?
@TylerPCoyneАй бұрын
I’d actually compare it more to a Vekoma madhouse. The only difference is instead of throwing you upside down in a room, it just tosses you all around the room.
@DJWezzyKАй бұрын
After ridden it 3 times, more like a teacups on steroids.

No. It's not
@jarmoliebrand200527 күн бұрын
Yeah, this thing is anything but a tilt-a-whirl or a teacup attraction. And not just because the Dynamic Motion Stage doesn't try and spin as fast as possible. I think the Madhouse comparison is an apt one. Efteling has both prototypes. But... more importantly, both ride types primarily serve whatever show they're in. Both Danse Macabre and Villa Volta were programmed in sync with the music. I see Danse Macabre as a ride/show hybrid (which I think is a good hommage of sorts to the old Spookslot; both attractions are shows first and firemost, it's just that you're _inside_ the show in Danse Macabre/you're an active part of it). Either element, show and ride, enhances the other. Comparing the Dynamic Motion Stage simpler spinning ride system would detract from Danse Macabre's show elements and the Motion Stage's orientation on being meant to enhance themed experiences. Honestly... Motion _Stage_ is more of a stage for a performance of some kind (it's a stage... It's in the name). A _stage_ in _motion_ that is programmed to _dynamically_ enhance a show.

@jarmoliebrand2005 Madhouse is completely different in my view. This is more of a ride then a Madhouse is. Cause the madhouse has a controlled swing, and this is a larger version of a teacups ride with controlled spinning and a simulator base underneath. So you can't really compare the two in my eyes. Dance Macabre is in the basis a simulator, made for screen based attractions. Efteling elevated it to a ride without screens and animatronics and just shows that you can even use a simulator attraction without screens. Rode it in 2025 and it is still freakin awesome. I have 5 rides in, and you can only see the eyes of the monster in "Koorbank-6". They adjusted the ride also, so you can see more inside the catacomb under the ride, every vehicle will now spin at least once to the catacombs.

The high pitched sound is so annoying, very loud in real life too. It was the only thing that made me not want to reride it, it's a very cool ride otherwise.
@jarmoliebrand200527 күн бұрын
I went on it twice yesterday and yes, I do hear it, but I don't find it to be that bad. It doesn't distract me from the attraction at all.
