Very informative video, thanks. One thing: once or twice there are phrases comparing Alexander to "famous Pharaohs like ... Tutankamun." That seems to be substituting today's fame for that of Alexander's time.
@israelmcmahon3340 Жыл бұрын
Alexander saw himself as Egyptian and not Greek. He has a shrine in the Luxor Temple (to this day) where he's shown no differently from his forebears. It should be noted that he did not seek confirmation of his royalty in Greece and burned the Greek city of Thebes to the ground. In the Alexander romance, he's actually the son of the last native pharaoh, Nectanebo ii, not Philip (of Macedon). Which is why the Egyptians welcomed him as their rightful ruler.

Greeks and Egyptians had religious similarities due their common Pelasgic origins. Hence the friendly atmosphere between them.
@pendragonsxskywalkers95186 ай бұрын
What???? That's nonsens. They didn't have any common origins. Pelasgians were indigenous inhabitants of Greece, that were conquered by Dors (proto-Greeks). Egyptians were North Africans. They had indpeendent set of beliefs that had nothing to dow ith each other.
@azwris6 ай бұрын
@@pendragonsxskywalkers9518 Thank you for your comment, but I will insist on my opinion. Also, Pelasgians were Proto-Greeks. The movement of Doric people was internal. Nobody came from somewhere else in Greece. If you want to continue to believe in the Indo-European story, then feel free to do so. I will stick to my mythology and other historical references from Orpheus, Omiros and many more.
@pendragonsxskywalkers95186 ай бұрын
@@azwris Then show evidences to your claims. If you insist they are true, prove it. (As for Pelasgians - they no doubt intermixed with Dores, so of course modern Greeks would have some Pelasgian ancestry. Still, I see no connection between Pelasgians - indigenous Europeans - and Egyptians, who are people indigenous to Nile Valley.)
@pendragonsxskywalkers95186 ай бұрын
@@azwris I must corrected myself - Pelasgians weren't conquered by Dores, but by Achaeans, who in turn were subjected by Dores. Pelasgians were native inhabitants of area. When Achaeans came, they mixed with Pelasgians; this culture was subsequently taken by Dores. Both Achaeans and Dores were cultural ancestors of hellenic Greece.
@azwris6 ай бұрын
@@pendragonsxskywalkers9518 Excuse me. Where did you read all of those things? The Ancient historians of Greece mention that the first Pelasgians lived in the area of Arcadia, before their expansiom towards Thessaly and Notthern Greece. I think you're confused and that shows from the correction of your initial comment.

So basically Egypt was stolen from the Nubian, Sudanese and Ethiopians land...explains the mixed races there....if you go back before Alexander the Greats take over im sure the Pharaoh's were of African decent. DNA after Alexander the Great took over of course would be lighter skinned,mixed raced. I'm sure they made them slaves there while some left. The Greeks were there 30 years. I believe Tutukamims grandmother was definitely of dark skinned African decent.
@pendragonsxskywalkers95187 ай бұрын
Egypt wasn't stolen from Nubia. It was never Nubians's to begin with. Nubia was colony in Egypt, in fact. Tut's grandmother was of both Egyptian and Levantine descent, her father even looks Asiatic, and both her parents had light hair 👱🏼♂👱🏼♀. Egyptians were indigenous North Africans with different phenotypes and different degree of Middle Eastern admixture - always. It started long before Alexander. Yes, there might be more European admixture with Greeks, but to say light skinned Egyptians appear with them is incorrect, as they lived in Mediterranean area and they were mixing with Asiatics. In fact we know that Ramesses II was light skinned, as analysis of his mummy shows this. And there was also Libyan dynasties - and Libyans were light-skinned.
