This reminded me of a place I worked at called Villa Richard, but Richard was pronounced with a French accent, like Rishard, he was a super cool entertaining old Italian dude who had served Einstein at Delmonico’s back in the day. In the 60’s he moved south and opened a restaurant in an old 1800’s stone mansion that had a cannonball from the Civil War in the stone just next to the front door, it was maybe a quarter mile from the Delaware River on the PA side. There was a pic of him with a massive machine gun, my boy who was manager said it was from when he was in Italy fighting against the Nazi’s, he wasn’t in the army, he was fighting with rebels or whatever you would call them.
