They sell new things every day, and the items in the stores are different each day (although I sometimes see the same interiors or foods in my store) and there are events like Tomodachi Quest, which is in the carnival circus place or the Night Market which sells a mystery bag which can contain really cool items. Also the Rap Battle and other activities, and the Miis dreaming and all that which others have said already I believe... ALSO, I think Trayarus is normal because he was left alone for a long time, which is not really a common option but oh well. You could have cheered him up by giving him treasures (I think they are called that, I don't pay attention to labels) like where the travel ticket was, to cheer him up faster and make his sadness level go down. Just trying to get some tips out there if you ever see this lol
