In the car and this song came on under the gospel channel. It had the Afrobeat rhythm and I thought back to attending church in Ghana and how they dance to the instruments. The rhythm and foundation of Black American gospel was founded on the slaves in the fields singing, clapping and stomping that were transported here to the Americas from Nigeria. It’s in our 🩸 if you don’t believe me get a DNA test, oh and if you put descendants from the 1st drop off…you’ll have some Irish/ Scottish mixed in there too. Once I saw a podcast that a man said that specific rythms attract specific spirits. Gospel songs don't just go our way, they must reach for the right spirit to be called gospel songs, not just talk about His name or some bible verses.
