I mean in defense of Zenon and Vanica, the magic of their devils is generally more utility-based. Zenon's already got pretty decent offense with his Bone Magic, and Vanica's got Blood Magic which we already know is stupid strong in its own right. Not hard to see why they used their devils' magic in that way. Dante on the other hand get Lucifero's Gravity Magic, which as we've seen can pull off some insane shit. His own innate magic, Body Magic, is shown to be pretty much... entirely utility-based. All he seemed to be able to do was grow arms/increase his size, and regenerate even with a lot of his body missing. Like yeah there's a lot of potential to it, but it does work a hell of a lot better as a defense. Gravity Magic is Dante's unblockable sword, and his Body Magic is his impenetrable shield. Outside of Asta and Leibe's anti-magic and Magna's Soul Chain Death Match, Dante's basically unbeatable. I still agree Dante is an idiot for not having more to do with his own magic, but the guy's ego is a little warranted with how busted the seemingly most basic application of his innate magic was shown to be. Hard to beat a guy with so much mana that an almost full body regeneration doesn't even make him get winded or break a sweat

Dante is 100% intentionally written the way he is, he’s meant to be a weak fool consumed by his own ego, so far gone in his delusions of grandeur. Being a naturally week, fool consumed by his ego , he is easy to manipulate and easy to beat, but that was all planned by his eldest brother. Dante is definitely the weakest of the dark triad, but I still enjoyed seeing him in the manga

That’s what makes him a well written character. Besides that I love how even tho it seemed he was the leader, Zenon held himself like he was in charge. It constantly felt like Dante was riding on not only lucifero’s but his sibling’s dicks as well. Giving off this energy that he’s in charge, while Zenon is there not giving af and running the show letting his spoiled brother think whatever he wants. For some reason I absolutely love the characterization. Sure he’s a brat, but because of how he’s portrayed he’s a well written brat.

He's charmless and bland because he's a waste of space and he's the only one that doesn't realize it. I'm glad the final fight with him gave me one of my favorite BC fights in recent times with Magne getting a needed development but the only triad sibling I liked was Zenon because his character interests me more personally. Lucifero was bland too, honestly most of the devils are bland outside Liebe and Nachts' devils.

Dante vs Magna is incredible and a moment we rarely ever see for shonens. Magna takes down the big bad of the arc and it makes you wonder how things would go in other series. Like Naruto for example.. Madaras biggest weakness was Taijutsu, so what if guy/rock lee combo were able to take him down etc. Stuff like that.

7:29, actually anti magic is pretty low on the devil power rankings. Not because it’s weak but because devils don’t train or anything. Realistically had Liebe stayed in the underworld he’d probably be way weaker. Because before meeting Licita he, like all devils, had no understanding of emotions. He wouldn’t know happiness or how to push himself, he’d continuously get jumped by everyone. Meaning a normal devil would be really weak with anti magic in terms of devil power. There are also more reasons why if anti magic had just stayed in the underworld it’s be very low, but I won’t get into that.

Magna vs dante showcases magnas style at its peak. Compare magna vs other flame magic users like fuegoleon or meroleona they overwhelm their opponents with their flame magic with their own personal styles. Magna doesnt have nearly the amount of mahic as them hell he probably has the least amount of magic amongst magic knights next to asta so his style has always been getting the most bang for his buck and using a spell that gets more mana while reducing your opponents is amazing strategically. It also just fits in the difference of characters they are. Dante was given this amazing devil ability because of his talents but never trained it hell i think his siblings could take him since they seemed to actually try with their magic. But magna being the guy who always trained but kept falling behind regardless finding his way to catch up was beautiful

The problem with Dante isn't his arrogance, it's his lack of skill. He is all powerful but unskilled, his loss to Magna wasn't a great feat for the fire mage(with all due respect to him ofc) but rather an anti-feat for the devil host. When it comes to skill Magna is good but he shouldn't be even comparable to a noble trained from birth but still he defeated Dante once their power levels were equalized. Dante is still one of the strongest character ofc but it's only for his durability and regeneration, otherwise he would be in the same tier as Magna(without the chain spell i mean). Side note: The virgin Dante: -Brags about how strong he is but gets his ass kicked all the times. -He's not focused on the fight and ignores many chanches he has to oneshot his opponent. -He couldn't beat any captain without his cheats and "immortality". -Nacht wasn't even full serious during their fight, he was only concerned about his "immortailty". -Lucius probably doesn't even remember his name. -Took down by a street thug that could have been handled easily if not underestimated. -In defeat he throw a tantrum like a child who just let the ice cream drops on the ground. The chad Zenon: -He never said to be strong, the people reading the manga did. -He's fully focused on the fight and doesn't waste time talking(and if he does he doesn't lose because of this). -Shows warrior respect to his opponents and never look down on them. -Without his demon powers he's still problably as strong as a captain. -Luck was afraid to fight him. -Lucius considers him his favourite sibling. -He relies on skill to win his fights. If he was put in the same situation as Dante he would definitely defeat Magna. -For every woman Dante has harassed, Zenon killed a warrior in battle. -It took someone with the oversoul of an elven demigod and a spade royal to take him down(and he still needed help). -In defeat he recognizes the superiority of his opponent's power and ideology and wishes him luck.
