I tried beating Dead Rising WITHOUT Weapons

Dead Rising is known for being the game where you can literally use anything as a weapon. So I thought hey, why don't I try beating Dead Rising on PS4 without weapons? Follow me on Twitter @danteravioli and Instagram @danteravioliyt for new updates, funny pictures of me and other cool things.
Dead Rising has always been one of my favourite childhood games. Yes, I played this crazy game as a kid and I turned out all right. In this action-packed zombie based sandbox you play as Frank West, photojournalist. He's covered wars, you know. Frank's mission is to find out what's happening in the weird little town of Willamette. What started all of this zombie nonsense? Will Carlito ever get it together or will he always try to be a "bad boy"? And will Brad and Jessie come out of this thing alive or will Frank have to yeet their undead booties to the underworld? Find out by watching the video.
In today's gaming challenge, I decided that I'd try completing Dead Rising on PS4 without weapons. This means I can ONLY use my body as a weapon. So punches, kicks, double lariats, and everything in between can be used for my advantage. This challenge was actually a lot harder than it looked mostly because of the timing! With the clock constantly ticking and not a lot of time to level up, it's really tricky to balance finishing main quests and building Frank's level at the same time. But in order for me to complete this gaming challenge, I'll have to become a time management master.

Disembowel, suplex and face runner all do the same. It’s one of the best DR games for abilities: you get to do them even on human enemies. Or some at least. It’s also the worst because it has the most awkward button mapping I’ve ever seen in a game for those abilities. Yuji Naka would be proud

Hey Dante, I have a hard challenge for you: Resident evil 5... Sheva AI only You can't shoot, the only one who can deal damage to enemies is Sheva, you only can give her ammo and heal her.

Sadly not possible because near the end you'd have to shoot Wesker to keep him away from Sheva or he'll kill her and that's assuming Sheva doesn't die in every other instance where it separates you.

In addition to the other reply, there is a bit where u get separated and its (impossible I think?) Without a second player bc the AI will get killed repeatedly if you don't shoot the zombies for her. But it would still be fun to see the rest of the game like that and what other bits may or may not be possible like that

If you ever play them. Try the original game, 2, and 2 off the record (off the record is the non canon version with Frank). Only Play 3 if you really enjoyed the first 2 and want to see how it ends. It’s something different and experimental. Do not play 4, it’s one of the worst sequels to a great series of all time! It’s the Saints row 4 of the series

​​@@q.h.s5051for what's it's worth (nothing three years later 😅) I think dead rising 3 is more like the saints row 4 of the dead rising games. Dead rising 4 is just completely completely different, Frank's different everything fucking sucks it's worse than the first game lol. It's not even fun. Saints row 4, is really fuckin fun. It's not a good SAINTS ROW game but it's an awesome game if you just take it as a game on its own not part of the franchise. The gameplay is so good and entertaining with all the powers and shit but it's lacking things from the other 3 games. Also, the difference between saints row 3, and 4 is quite small, in 3 the games already really silly and you sell merchandise instead of drugs, etc. Then they decided to fully lean into the batshit craziness. The intro to 4 actually explicitly states they made that decision, to make the game fun and wacky, saints row 2 was wacky but serious too with Gatts wife (Aiisha?) Dying and shit. Dead rising 3, is a great game. Super super fuckin fun and it's WAY less stressful then the others. Dead rising 1 is a brilliant game but it's frustrating as shit. Dead rising 3 doesn't really feel like a dead rising game but like I said it's fuckin great anyway and it's an absolute blast. I probably had more actual FUN when I finally decided to stop replaying 1, CZ, 2, CW and OTR over and over with 3 than I did with the others. I love the others (1, 2 OTR) more but for other reasons than just pure fun. I love how creative they are and the atmosphere of the first game especially. I love Chuck's quips in 2 and OTR is my all-time favourite one. It's like the best bits of 2 (mechanics and shit better than 1) but you get to play as Frank. Remember that name the whole worlds gunna know it when he gets the scoop. Edit holy shiiit as I was typing the word "scoop" and advert loaded and messed up the screen I thought I'd lost all that typing fucking hell

@@ricojones856 It was kind of a simplification of Dead Rising. No time limit, no phycopaths, no multiple endings, or overtime unless you pay extra, not everything is a weapon. If you happen to like Frank as a character the ditched the old actor and personality unfortunately. If you only play dead rising to kill zombies with goofy weapons and nothing else, then it's perfectly fine.

I think Dante didn't fail this, because while he did have to use a gun, he didn't kill anything with it. So while he did use a weapon, he wasn't really using it as a weapon, but instead using it to disable another weapon and allow him to beat the shit out of the other weapon's driver.

I bought this on 360 on launch day and I can honestly say out of all the game's I really really wanted to love it as I'm a massive fan of zombie games but it's so so riddled with issues. The controls are utterly pap, the A.I of the NPCS are that of a box of matches, and then there's the random triggers of maddening difficulty for no reason. I believe you can get the two survivors hanging from bear in wonderland plaza by spitting at them. Have a empty inventory slot aim and shoot, you will spit them down. Correct me if I'm wrong I should test it out actually.
